Within days after dropping the first radio play of "It's My Party" on CapitalFM, British pop superstar Jessie J unveils its fun music video. Supermodel pal Jourdan Dunn makes a cameo in the Emil Nava-directed visuals for "The Voice UK" judge's Max Martin and Shellback-produced track, the second cut off her forthcoming, still untitled sophomore studio album, due later this year.
In the four-minute clip, the blonde singer turns up at three different parties, a punk/grunge gathering, a pompous hipster get-together and a hip-hop bash. Being the party animal that she is, she brings them all together in one rocking celebration.
"It's basically me having parties. Three very different parties that I kind of bring together as one big party. There's some cameos in there, some of my best mates in there," Ms. J explains. "It's a fun video, it's just me being silly. It's a lot of humor."
Jessie J is well-advised in choosing "It's My Party" as a follow-up single to the Big Sean and Dizzee Rascal-assisted lead single "Wild", throwing back to her 2011 "Domino" pop sound after the urban and hip-hop vibe in "Wild", offering some variation that will surely get fans excited over her upcoming album. The highly-anticipated set will feature production from famed record producer Dr. Luke and singer-songwriter Claude Kelly who has penned hits for such artists as Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Kelly Clarkson and Jason Derulo.
