Jimmy Kimmel learns that "music fans in general love knowing about bands that no one else has ever heard of," so his "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" team "decided to conduct an experiment" during the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. At the recently-wrapped event in in Indio, California, they interviewed attendees about bands which don't exist.
Some young music lovers were asked about bands like Shorty Jizzle & the Plumber Cracks, Get the F**k Out of My Pool and The Chelsea Clintons which were made up, but that didn't stop them from saying good things about the fake bands. One guy said he loved The Obesity Epidemic's "whole style, their whole genre ... They're very innovative and they're new."
Another man claimed he often played Two Door Cinema Club's album "DJ Cornmeal". There is indeed a Northern Irish indie rock band named Two Door Cinema Club, but "DJ Cornmeal" isn't a real album.
The hilarious interviews were compiled for "Lie Witness News" segment aired on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" Monday, April 23. This year's Coachella Festival itself was held on two consecutive weekends, beginning April 12 and ending April 22.
