Presenting plenty of stunning slow-motion shots, the violent snippet shows Dredd brutally shooting some gangsters who are enjoying a drug binge.
Karl Urban hosted the Master of the Web panel on the Day 1 of the 2012 San Diego Comic-Con. While tackling his duty, the actor presented a special treat to the audience by unveiling a brutal red band clip for his upcoming comic book movie, "Dredd".
The intense clip featured Urban's Dredd and Olivia Thirlby's Anderson as they busted a group of thugs who enjoyed a drug binge. After breaking the door with a grenade, Dredd heartlessly attacked the gangster with his trusted gun. Various slow-motion killing scenes were also exposed in the snippet.
"Dredd" was screened during the preview night of Comic-Con on Wednesday, July 11. Receiving relatively well reviews, the movie was dubbed "absolutely brutal" by some critics. Adam Chitwood of Collider reported that the film was "100% a hard R with incredibly graphic violence throughout the film's entire runtime."
An adaptation of John Wagner and Carlos Ezquerra's comic strip, "Dredd" follows the titular character who is the most feared judge among other elite Street Judges in Mega City One. He has the power to enforce the law, sentence offenders and execute them on the spot if necessary.
Also starring Lena Headey as Ma-Ma, Langley Kirkwood as Judge Lex, Francis Chouler as Judge Guthrie, and Deobia Oparei as Judge T.J. Alvarez, "Dredd" will be released nationwide on September 21.
