A representative for Helberg confirms that the actor playing Howard Wolowitz on the CBS sitcom and his actress wife, Jocelyn Towne, have welcomed their first child together on May 8.

AceShowbiz - Simon Helberg can officially add father to his resume. The 31-year-old actor, who is best known for his portrayal of Howard Wolowitz on "The Big Bang Theory", has welcomed his first child with wife Jocelyn Towne last Tuesday, May 8. His representative confirmed the happy news to Us Weekly.

Helberg and his actress/writer/director wife chose Adeline as their newborn's name. While there are no further details shared regarding the newborn, a source told the publication, "The family is thrilled." The source added that the Rabbi Scott of "A Serious Man" is "excited to be a father - he's been doing his reading."

Helberg met Towne in his home town of Los Angeles, California. They tied the knot in 2007. Months before the TV star announced in late January 2012 that he and his wife were expecting their first child together, he seemed to have given a hint about it when he bought Charlie Sheen's Mediterranean-style home in the prominent Los Feliz neighborhood for a reported $2.9 million.
