Looking gory in his portrayal as a brutal killer, the 'Lord of the Rings' actor is pictured gripping a blood-soaked dagger and sporting blood splatters all over his face.
Elijah Wood gets bloody in a first official image for "Maniac" remake. Channeling his inner brutal killer persona, the actor playing Frodo in the "Lord of the Rings" film series is pictured holding a blood-soaked dagger and sporting blood splatters all over his face.
In addition to Wood's picture, a photo that unveils a first look at Nora Arnezeder's character has been made available for viewing pleasure. The blond beauty is seen speaking on a telephone in front of some standing mannequins. Another newly release still, meanwhile, gives a horrifying look at a mannequin with blood covering its face.
In "Maniac", Wood plays a serial killer who works at a shop that sells antique mannequins. He finds victims on the Internet and stalks them like prey, all the while suffering from hallucinations that throw him back into the past when he was abused by his own mother. In his twisted mind, he gains a measure of revenge against his mother with each kill.
The slasher thriller movie, which still hasn't set its U.S. release date, is directed by Franck Khalfoun. Also rounding up the cast ensemble are Sal Landi and Dan Hunter.
