Frodo Revealed Details of 'The Hobbit' Sequel
January 12, 2008 10:01:27Details about Peter Jackson's upcoming projects concerning the prequel of "Lord of the Rings" have been shared. In an interview with MTV Movies Blog, Elijah Wood confirmed the rumor that the planned sequel of "The Hobbit" is going to be the bridge between "The Hobbit" and "The Lord of the Rings".
To MTV News, the actor who played Frodo revealed that he knew the fact after he emailed the Academy Award-winning director, Jackson. He said, "I haven't spoken to him directly about it [but] I've e-mailed him, and as far as I know the two films that they're doing, one will be 'The Hobbit' and another will take place between the 60 years that happened between 'The Hobbit' and 'The Lord of the Rings'."

Nabbing a great challenge in his bright career, Elijah Wood has snatched a coveted part to play legendary rocker Iggy Pop in "The Passenger", a biopic of the music artist that Ted Hope's This Is That Productions and Traction Media are executive producing.
Chronicles Pop's early years with his band The Stooges, pic reportedly is budgeted between $6 million-$8 million with Pop already "given his blessing" to it though he won't take any part in.

Finally trying his hands at producing films, Elijah Wood is collaborating with Anthony Moody and Rob Malkani's Indalo Productions to produce a big screen feature entitled "Black Wings Has My Angel", The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
Adapted from Elliott Chaze's noir novel of the same name, the project takes focus on an ex-convict who stages a daring armed car robbery in Colorado with the help of a call girl whom he picked up in a backwoods Mississippi motel.

Fully realizing the star powers behind an animated feature, Focus Features CEO James Schamus proudly announced on Tuesday, March 20, that the studio's animated epic "9" is featuring an all-star voice cast consisting of Elijah Wood, Jennifer Connelly, Crispin Glover, Martin Landau, Christopher Plummer, and John C. Reilly.
"This exciting and thought-provoking story has already drawn a strong filmmaking team together to work with Shane in bringing his visionary fantasy world to life," Schamus claimed. "These splendid actors will provide compelling characterizations to go with the visual brilliance."

Continues to explore the diverse acting roles in his film career, Elijah Wood is now putting an eye on thriller genre. The Hollywood Reporter reveals that the "Deep Impact" star has reached a deal to take part in the international crime feature "Oxford Murders", an adaptation of Argentinean writer Guillermo Martinez's award-winning novel of the same title.
Set to appear opposite John Hurt, Wood will portray a young student who comes under the wing of a Sherlock Holmes-style mentor as he gets intrigued by a murder that takes place where he lives. Shooting is scheduled to start on January 22 in London and Oxford, England under Tornasol Films banner with Alex de la Iglesia directing as well as penning the script.

Saying "My taste is pretty eclectic, so my label won't have a specific sound. Though if Radiohead are ever looking for a deal, I'd sign them any time," Wood hopes that this new project of his will attract a wide range of acts.
"There's a wealth of amazing bands out there who have nowhere to go. I want to have the chance to release things that might not necessarily get released otherwise," the actor commented. Yet, he tells British magazine Q, "I don't have a great love for bands with actors in them. Me prancing around onstage? That's not going to happen."
