Having given birth to her first child with Mike Comrie on March 20 evening, the former 'Lizzie McGuire' star tweets, 'We are overjoyed and feel like the luckiest parents in the world.'
Hilary Duff has officially become first-time mother to a baby boy. The actress playing Olivia Burke on several episodes of "Gossip Girl" gave birth to her first child with Mike Comrie on Tuesday, March 20 evening. She made the announcement herself two days afterward, revealing what name she and her husband has chosen for the newborn.
"Welcome to the World Luca Cruz Comrie! Tuesday evening, we became proud parents of a healthy 7 pound 6 ounce beautiful boy," tweeted the 24-year-old songstress on Thursday. She followed it up with two other posts that read, "We are overjoyed and feel like the luckiest parents in the world," and "He is surrounded by so much love!! Mom and baby are both doing extremely well."
Also taking it to Twitter to express their joy were Hilary's husband Mike and sister Hailey Duff. The now-retired NHL player wrote, "Welcome to the World Luca Cruz Comrie! Can't express my feelings for you right now," while Hailey tweeted, "Congrats to @HilaryDuff and Mike! We are so blessed to welcome Luca in to the world! #ProudAunt."
Hilary shared news of her first pregnancy on August 14, 2011. She wrote on her official blog, "We also want to share the exciting news that......BABY MAKES THREE!!! We are extremely happy and ready to start this new chapter of our lives. Thanks to everyone for the continued love and support throughout the years!"
