There are 21 dates listed so far which stretch up to July but more dates are planned.

One Direction are taking America by storm. After landing on number one at Billboard Hot 200 this week with their debut album "Up All Night", the U.K. band announced on Wednesday, March 21 that they will have a headlining tour in North America.

The jaunt takes off in Fairfax, Va. on May 24 and visits large arenas and theaters in New York, Los Angeles and Toronto among others. There are 21 dates in the list so far but more will be added. Tickets go on sale March 24.

The boyband, which were formed on U.K. version of "The X Factor", have toured Stateside before as the opening act of Big Time Rush in a 10-date roadshow. Like their touring mate, One Direction will also have their own television show on Nickelodeon.

The tour dates can be seen on their official website. Before charming their fans with the live performances, One Direction will appear on "Saturday Night Live" first on April 7, NBC has announced.
