Jared Padalecki Announces Birth of Baby Boy

Making use of his Twitter account, the Sam Winchester of 'Supernatural' reveals that he and his actress wife, Genevieve Cortese, have welcomed their first child together.

Jared Padalecki has officially become a proud father to a baby boy. The "Supernatural" star shared the happy news himself on late Monday, March 19 night through his Twitter account. Announcing the birth of his first child with actress wife Genevieve Cortese, he simply posted, "It's a boy :)."

Among the first to congratulate Padalecki was D.J. Qualls. The "All About Steve" actor, who once made an appearance on "Supernatural", was quick to send Padalecki a tweet that read, "Yay! Congrats! I love you, buddy!" In his response, the Clay Miller of "Friday the 13th" simply wrote back, "ditto :)."

Padalecki broke the news that he and his wife, whom he first met on the set of "Supernatural" in 2008, were expecting their first child together back in October 2011. At the time, he tweeted, "OK yall I'd rather you officially hear it from me.. So, yes. Genevieve is pregnant." He added, "We'll be welcoming a new member to our family in 2012."
