The ad on AMC's website confirms the speculation saying that one of the survivors in Rick's group will be written out before the end of this season.

AceShowbiz - "The Walking Dead" season 2 DVD ad has accidentally revealed a huge spoiler from the show's upcoming three remaining episodes. The ad on AMC's website spills the demise of one major character in the remainders of the season.

"This special limited edition Blu-Ray includes all 13 episodes on 4 discs, including bonus feaures such as: the making of the barn, an extended zombie gut scene, [SPOILER ALERT!] Shane's last episode...," so it's teased on the ad. It confirms the wild speculation that Jon Bernthal's character will not survive beyond the second season.

Rumor that Shane will not be seen in season 3 surfaced since Bernthal signed up for TNT's pilot "L.A. Noir", which comes from original "Walking Dead" showrunner Frank Darabont. Last month, creator Robert Kirkman downplayed the speculation and insisted, "Who's to say he [Bernthal] survives that first pilot? Maybe he dies in the first episode."

Still, he once admitted that death is something which can't be avoided in a show like "Walking Dead". "If they're good characters, there are always more scenes to write, but this is the nature of things: There are zombies around. People gots to die," he explained in another interview.

Responding to the spoiler leaked on the DVD ad, an AMC spokesperson said in a statement, "The post on the AMC store was completely unauthorized. The matter is currently under investigation." Meanwhile, the link to the ad now leads to a dead page.
