The first trailer for drama film "Cherry" has been made available for viewing pleasure. Featuring Ashley Hinshaw, James Franco, Heather Graham and Dev Patel, the sneak-peek video follows a young lady who jumps into a porn business after running away to San Francisco with her best friend.
This indie drama revolves around Hinshaw's Angelina, an 18-year-old girl on the verge of finishing her school. Having an alcoholic mother and a violent step-father, she grows up with a difficult family background. One morning, her boyfriend asks her to take naked pictures for money. Though refusing at first, she later does the photo shoot and uses the money to run away with her best friend (Patel) to San Francisco.
There, while cocktailing in a strip club, Angelina meets a well-off lawyer named Frances (Franco), who introduces her to a different kind of world, a place full of expensive dresses and fancy parties. But, that world is not as good as it seems. Using the moniker Cherry, she begins exploring the porn industry in the city under the direction of porn star-turned-director Margaret (Graham).
"Cherry" is directed by former adult movie star Stephen Ellion, who also co-writes the script along with Lorelei Lee, a porn performer who is also a writer and lecturer at New York University. Also starring Lili Taylor and Jonny Weston, it drew a mixed critical reception after being screened at the 2012 Berlin International Film Festival. It still hasn't got any U.S. release date though.
