A day after family and friends mourned her loss and celebrated her career at a star-studded funeral, Whitney Houston was finally laid to rest. The "I Will Always Love You" hitmaker was buried next to her father, John Russell Houston Jr., at Fairview Cemetery in Westfield, New Jersey in a private, invite-only burial Sunday, February 19.

The 48-year-old pop icon was transported from the Whigham Funeral Home in Newark to the Fairview Cemetery in a gold hearse and a police-escorted motorcade. E! Online detailed the motorcade consisted of six limos, five cars and a large black SUV. Following behind her hearse was a black Chevy pickup truck that is filled with such flowers as light purple roses, pink carnations and white lilies.

Fans and onlookers gathered along the route to the cemetery, reportedly calling out "We Love you, Whitney!" and tossing rose petals. One fan, Barbara Davis of Newark, told The Star-Ledger that she had been waiting outside the Whigham Funeral Home since 8:30 A.M. Sunday. She said, "To be here at her home-going is an honor and a blessing."

On Saturday, many of the biggest names in music industry paid tribute to Houston in a nearly four-hour service at the church where she sang in the choir as a child. The likes of Alicia Keys, Stevie Wonder, R. Kelly, music mogul Clive Davis and her co-star in "The Bodyguard", Kevin Costner, remembered her through song, prayer and personal anecdotes.
