To tide fans over the summer return of "Game of Thrones", HBO has just released a batch of new images from the second season via the show's official Facebook page. Most of the photos feature familiar faces on the medieval series, but some others put their highlights on new characters.
Through these images, fans can get a better look at Brienne of Tarth (Gwendoline Christie), Balon Greyjoy (Patrick Malahide), Davos Seaworth (Liam Cunningham), Melisandre (Carice van Houten) and Stannis Baratheon (Stephen Dillane). They were briefly seen in some sneak peek videos.
In "Game of Thrones" season 2 which will premiere on Sunday, April 1, Stannis attempts to seize the Iron Throne from King Joffrey. Serving him are the red priestess from Asshai, Melisandre, and Davos, a former smuggler who is now one of Stannis' most trusted advisers.
Also vying for the throne is Balon Greyjoy, lord of the Iron Islands. Meanwhile, Brienne is a skilled female warrior who serves Renly Baratheon, brother of Stannis.
