The Interscope Records' new artist sings a ballad track about starting a healing process after a hard break-up and moving on with her life.
Pia Toscano is looking forward to releasing her first single "This Time" on July 12, but fans who are itching to get the first taste of her upcoming debut won't have to wait until next week to listen to the song. She has showcased it live for the first time ever during "American Idol" tour opener on July 6, and footage from the concert hit the web one day after.
Co-written and co-produced by Ester Dean, the song starts with an acoustic guitar and a simple beat. It's about going through a rough break-up and finding her true happiness. "Don't try to stop me with the words you say/ 'cause I'm sick and tired of the game you play/ Gonna bring myself gonna make the change/ And like a butterfly Imma spread my wings," Pia belted out its lyrics.
"American Idol" tour was kicked off at the Maverik Center in West Valley City, UT. Beside watching Pia, concertgoers were also treated with live performances from Casey Abrams, Haley Reinhart, Jacob Lusk, James Durbin, Lauren Alaina, Naima Adedapo, Paul McDonald, Scotty McCreery, Stefano Langone and Thia Megia. Together, they are traveling across North America until September 10.
