That kiss between Scotty McCreery and Lauren Alaina after Ryan Seacrest announced McCreery as this season's "American Idol" winner was that of siblings'. When asked whether there's anything romantic, McCreery told People, "Oh no. We've been getting that question all morning. Me and her, it's a brother-and-sister relationship."
Alaina has to debunk the story to several other media outlets as well. "We're just really good friends. We really care about each other," she told Us Weekly. "Everyone wants us to like each other, but we just don't." When pressed with a possibility, the 16-yer-old said, "You never know what's going to happen 10 years down the road, but I doubt it. I think we'll always be really good friends."
McCreery, 17, himself is not interested in dating right now. "I'm still single. I don't want a girl who likes me because I'm the American Idol," he said. "I just want them to like me because I'm Scotty. That's a hard thing to find, but it'll work out sometime." He added, "I'm still young and I've got a lot of years ahead of me."
Back to the kiss on "Idol" finale, McCreery explained that it was actually planned. "She told me before the show she was going to [kiss me]," he said. "It was kind of like a joke. She's a character." He said their friendship went as far back as the Hollywood Week.

YES! i just know they're in a relationship.And lauren doesnt like him cuz he's Idol's winner. she likes cuz he a very sweet cute guy who cares bout her! they probally want to keep it their little secret.plus after he won he said:"me and lauren alaina have been together from the start & will be for along time."or somthing like that.

Yeah right. They are something more. I don't kiss my siblings like that - not even my best friend who is a guy! There is an undeniable chemistry - they are trying to throw people off so the little girls will buy Scotty's cd.

i personally think they are together but just arent sure about telling people. thats one thing i caught was when he said i love you baby..thats not part of that song..they make a cute couple together or not
If they are just friends why was the first thing out of his mouth "Lauren & I have been together since the beginning and will be for a long time" I thought that was a slap to his fans, but he is young and a good boy. The deceiving begins ...hope he stays strong in his faith. I would have been happy with any of the top 5 to win.
This has proven that they are still kids and they don't look at things the way adults look at.
The kiss is one thing..but he also went up to her and said love you baby and kissed her again...so I think they are trying to save ratings. They are together, I don't care what they say.
