Mariah Carey to Celebrate Christmas With ABC

ABC has Beyonce Knowles on Thanksgiving and Mariah Carey on Christmas. In a press release, the network announced on Monday, November 1 that there will be a holiday television special called "Mariah Carey: Merry Christmas to You" airing on Monday, December 13 at 9/8c.

The special will feature Mariah performing songs from her new holiday album, "Merry Christmas II You" which is arriving in U.S. stores this week under Island Def Jam Music Group. Viewers will be treated with renditions of Christmas classics like "All I Want for Christmas Is You" and original tunes such as her new hit "Oh, Santa!" which music video is coming out soon.

Also, the program will feature Carey surprising some very special fans and helping to make their wishes come true. Joel Gallen who produced this year's "Hope for Haiti Now: A Global Benefit for Earthquake Relief" will direct the special and serve as executive producer alongside Carey.

According to Examiner, the pregnant singer would tape the special on Saturday, November 6 at the Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles. Lucky fans are able to get the ticket for free by following the rules at 1iota.com.

ABC has also prepared a Thanksgiving music program which features fellow diva, Beyonce Knowles. The singer's 2009 world tour special will be aired on November 25. And starting November 14, ABC would air Thanksgiving-themed episode of "Desperate Housewives", "The Middle", "Better With You" and "Cougar Town" plus two times broadcast of the annual "A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving".
