Wonder Woman Translated to TV Series Instead of Movie

Two unsuccessful attempts to bring the heroine into big screen are shunned by a plan to make a reboot for television.

Finally, Wonder Woman will be seen in action after years of plan to do the movie failed to materialize. The bionic woman however is going to be featured in a TV series which is modernized from the 1975-79 version starring Lynda Carter.

In its report, THR said David E. Kelley who had produced "Ally McBeal", "Boston Legal" and "The Practice" among others has been assigned by Warner Bros. to produce and write for the new series. But many question as to why Kelley who is known for his dialog-heavy series would be chosen to run an action series.

The news about a TV adaptation comes after years of attempts by WB to bring the superhero to big screen. In 2005 Joss Whedon was announced as the director and the writer of the movie version but the project simply vanished along the way although actresses like Angelina Jolie and Megan Fox were tossed in as the possible heroine. "They just didn't like my take," Whedon said at the time. "It's pretty simple."

Long before that, producer Joel Silver also acknowledged his plan to have a Wonder Woman movie. And like Whedon's, the project never came to light.
