Steven Spielberg is reportedly interested to direct a robot movie. According to New York Magazine's Vulture, the acclaimed filmmaker has been considering to make "Robopocalypse" as his next project.

"With DreamWorks, everything is potentially a Steven project - until it's not. That's why everyone's in a frenzy trying to read it," a source tells the site. Elaborating the statement, Vulture says, "If Spielberg does it, agents will be desperate to get their acting clients hired for the film. Meanwhile, directors' agents are trying to read it in case he decides not to do the project."

Back in May, Spielberg was reported eying "Robopocalypse" as his next project. He was later said landing his choice to "War Horse" which is currently in production. Vulture's report, however, suggests that he still wants the sci-fi movie.

A new draft of "Robopocalypse" has just been provided by "Cloverfield" co-writer Drew Goddard. The forthcoming movie, based on not-yet finished story by author Daniel H. Wilson, will explore the fate of the human race after a robot uprising.
