Kelly Osbourne, Camilla Belle, Katy Perry, John Mayer and Pink are spotted coming to Indio, Cafornia and watching performances from Wale, She and Him, La Roux and Passion Pit.

AceShowbiz - The 2010 Coachella summer music festival was kicked off on Friday, April 16 with live performances from Wale, She & Him and more. With the help from DJ Omega, Wale who arrived late at the event performed a number of songs. When delivering his last song, the rapper told the DJ to "speed it up," noting that he didn't have much time left.

Zooey Deschanel who wore a blue summer dress brought a tambourine on stage, while her bandmate M. Ward accompanied her with a guitar. They treated concertgoers with their own songs such as "I Was Made for You" and "Why Do You Let Me Stay Here" as well as a rendition of others' tracks, like Chuck Berry's "Roll Over Beethoven."

Wale was not the only performer who showed up late at the gig as The Avett Brothers also had to cut short their set because they arrived late. Other performers on the first day of the festivity included La Roux, Street Sweeper Social Club, Yeasayer, Passion Pit, Them Crooked Vultures and The Dillinger Escape Plan.

Not only was the stage glittered with acclaimed musicians, but also the field was packed with big stars coming as audience. Kelly Osbourne attended the gig with her boyfriend Luke Worral, and others like Camilla Belle and Katy Perry came with their friends. Also spotted among concertgoers were John Mayer, Pink, Pixie Geldof, Whitney Port and many more.

This year's Coachella Festival will run until Sunday, April 18. However, many scheduled musical guests from Britain withdrew from the gig because all flights in the country have been canceled due to dangerous amounts of volcanic ash in the air resulted from the eruption of Mount Eyjafjallajokull in Iceland.

"Unfortunately, despite a Herculean effort we won't be able to play at Coachella this year," The Cribs' guitarist Johnny Marr wrote on the band's MySpace to announce the cancellation. "We are pretty gutted to be frank, currently languishing in the grimmest ferry port after waiting for good news about free airspace that never came."

Organizer Paul Tollett is adamant that headlining acts like and Muse and Jay-Z will perform as planned although he admitted that "there's maybe a dozen bands in question." The U.K. bands whose appearances at the festival are in doubt include Delphic, Los Campesinos!, Bad Lieutenant, Frightened Rabbit and Gary Numan.
