Having a resemblance to how the casting directors want Caroline Compton to look like, Shannon Lucio will be playing the vintage-looking woman in season 3.

AceShowbiz - "True Blood" will go back in time of Civil War in third season and Bill Compton's first wife will be brought into attention. Caroline Compton actually has appeared in season 1 being played by Amber Dawn Landrum but the new season has cast a new actress which is Shannon Lucio.

Caroline lives in 1866 as a "lovely, very strong, brave, well-bred and well-spoken Southern woman". Bill who was sent to war never came home to her and their kids when he stopped by a vampire woman's house for food and was turned into one of the immortals.

In the third season, Caroline will have a "great scene", pulling a shotgun on the intruder into her house. Clearly prepared to use it, she realizes it's her husband Bill, whom she was sure had died in the War. Casting for Caroline was held in November with the specification that the actress who portrays her should resemble a provided picture.

Lucio is the latest actor on board the vampire series. Her co-star on "Prison Break", Marshall Allman has recently been announced joining the show as Sam's younger brother. The difference is, Allman will be recurring heavily while Lucio will only guest star.

"True Blood" begins sucking again in June 2010.
