recently took it to his Twitter to share with fans that he is going in a new direction. "AMA performance was a one time event. Goin in a new direction now. Focus back on the music," the openly gay singer wrote.

"Don't worry friends: I'm still gonna be me. Always. W/o appologies. Just gonna experiment differently w how I present myself. I'm learning," he explained further. "And thank you all for your kind and supportive tweets. Means more than you can imagine. It was a looong week."

Last week, Adam Lambert shocked TV viewers when performing a sexually-charged stage act at 2009 American Music Awards. In response to the controversy surrounding the raunchy performance, he has repeatedly said during several occasions that he didn't mean to upset people.

Adam has dropped his debut album "" in U.S. on November 23. The effort is predicted to enter at No. 2 on Billboard Hot 200 with 210,000 - 230,000 copies sold. As one of the promotional projects to support the album, Adam has taped "Whataya Want From Me" performance for "" which airs on December 1.

Also, you are new at this kind of entertainment Adam and you do need to have the freedom to experiment with performances and feel things out. Keep working it out for us. Don't give in to those who are discomforted by your honesty and openess to be who you truly are.

AMA is not for children. "Children" should have been in bed at the time Adam performed. So "Shame on you" to all the parents for letting ur children stay up so late to watch the AMA's. Shame. Shame. AMA is entertainment for adults. Adam brought it to the stage....he really did. If he hadn't we wouldn't still be discussing it. Regardless of all the controversial hoopla - Adam's performance opened doors for performers who feel the need to suffocate their performances with FCC standards. Adam did what he does best - HE performed. Yeah, I admit his performance had some definate shock value...BUT the AMA's needed it. The rest of the AMA show was pretty hum-drum in comparison. The reason no one seems to be talking about the rest of the show is because, we have all forgotten who performed. LOL! Is Adam not the talk of the show? Come on prudence...Live a little! Adam, don't give in to the suffacating FCC standards. U kno what WE want, what WE love - So bring it on and make NO apologies.

Sharpe and Oli Adam was Performing on the AMA which really should be for mature audiences to begin with. Let the guy be gay will you? Read his Rolling Stones article if you will. There were no false pretences with him from the beginning. Just pure honesty. Let him have his fun. He admits he went overboard and insulting us was not his intent. He got into the sexual atmosphere (lady Gaga,etc...,) and revealed some of his sexuality which many are just not able to accept. He's a great singer, performer, and yes he is a sexual man. Let's veiw this more maturely and with an open mind folks. I am a heterosexual female by the way.

Adam is a great performer and I love everything he does. IF by focus more on the music he means he won't let the performance out do his vocals that is fine - just keep being yourself Adam, you rock!!

I was extremely angry that Adam upset so many of his fans (including me) by putting in the "show" he did on the AMAs. I really hope that he truly does focus on the music again, and leaves all the rest behind him. He deserves success, but not if he is going to waste his talent and resort to sex and shock value. Adam - please PROVE to us that you have learned your lesson because actions do speak louder than words.
