"Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans" has got an early promo trailer. Said to be leaked online, this unofficial trailer gives out glimpses at the Werner Herzog's version of Abel Ferrara's 1992 "Bad Lieutenant", sharing ideas what the new movie is all about and how Nicolas Cage portrays his crooked cop character.
The more-than-two-minute promotional video begins with a snippet showing the handing out of a special award for Cage's character. Then, it cuts to the scene wherein a doctor tells Cage that he can return to full duty after examining his x-ray photo. Still, the doctor warns him that though he can go back to the force, his healing injury can inflict him with moderate to severe back pain. The trailer then continues to show the new case that he has to deal with.
"Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans" has Werner Herzog serving as the helmer. Previously, he has explained that this movie won't be a remake, insisting that it will have "a completely different story in the same sense as the last James Bond is not a remake of the previous one". The crime drama features the likes of Nicolas Cage, Val Kilmer, Eva Mendes and Xzibit among others, and is still awaiting its U.S. release date.
