Creator Josh Schwartz said, "The technology is pretty amazing, and the stuff we were able to shoot - all the mind flashes are going to be in 3D and the opening credits, as well as the action set pieces." He added that there could be scenes of Sarah scantily clad and Mike eating a donut, all in 3D.
Called "Chuck Versus the Third Dimension", the episode chronicle Chuck's attempt in protecting international rock star Tyler Martin from being killed. However, Martin proves to be one to handle for he asks Chuck for a night out which leads to a lot of troubles. Meanwhile, Morgan wins a pair of backstage passes to Tyler's show and holds a contest among his fellow employees, including Big Mike's old football friend Jimmy, to see who gets to be his lucky plus one.
