'HSM' Stars Talk About U.S. Presidential Election

Corbin Bleu

Unlike Zac Efron who won't reveal which presidential candidate he's voting for, Corbin Bleu openly admits he's a Barack Obama supporter.

Reaching the age of consent to be able to vote in the highly anticipated U.S. presidential election this coming November, cast of Disney's "High School Musical" break their silence over getting able to vote for the first time. Corbin Bleu, Zac Efron, and Matt Prokop have all shared their political views with Hollyscoop.

Unlike Zac who declined to share about which candidate he will vote for, Bleu willingly shared he's voting for Barack Obama. "I am registered to vote, and I'm a Barack Obama supporter," the young actor proudly said.

Apparently trying to act neutral about politics, Zac was cited as stating, "I'm registered to vote and I'm gonna encourage voting, but I'm not gonna encourage anyone to vote for a particular candidate." Fellow "HSM" star, Matt, jokingly added, "I'd like to see John McCain do Zac's solo Scream."

Bleu and Zac were last seen attending the premiere of "High School Musical 3: Senior Year" at Leicester Square, in London, England on October 7. Met by hundreds of screaming fans, they were joined by co-stars Vanessa Hudgens and Ashley Tisdale among others.

"High School Musical 3: Senior Year" is slated to hit the theaters next Friday, October 24. As for the U.S. presidential election, it will be held on November 4.

Corbin Bleu is the most smartest person in the world to me right now, and always! He truly thinks we need change, even if he's a celebrity. His parents raised him right! Corbin, I hope you read this. You're one of the best role models of boys, and guys close or even your age. I hope you stay that way! Just wouldn't mak since to me if you didn't.

I respect an actor to keep his political views private, although I think it shows a sense of confidence to openly declare your political view. Staying neutral, shows Zac may be afraid of loosing fans by stating his political preference. Of course, it's his/her choice and it is a personal decision, however, I think these young actors are role models and should feel free to openly state their feelings, just as if they were to state if they were straight or gay. I respect, and totally admire, Corbin Bleu's courage to be strong & totally support Barack Obama- that shows a true supporter, who will stick to his views no matter if he disappoints fans. I think Zac shows a sign of insecurity by remaining neutral, although it is his decision, I do get the feeling he's a republican. No particular reason, I just have that feeling.
