On Saturday night, March 28, the first feature film of Disney's TV movie series "High School Musical" has grabbed two out of five awards given for feature films, taking home Favorite Movie and Favorite Movie Actress .
For the Favorite Movie title, "HSM3" beat out tough competitors that included "The Dark Knight" and "Iron Man". Accepting the kudo was the drama musical's leading man, Zac Efron, who said, "Lately, a lot of people have been taking credit for bringing back the musical. The truth is we've known who's been responsible for bringing back the musical all along. It was you guys!"

'High School Musical 3: Senior Year' Songs Considered for Oscar Nomination
December 20, 2008 10:12:52Either one or a few "High School Musical 3: Senior Year" songs may appear on the nominations list of the 81st Annual Academy Awards. Four songs out of twelve tracks appearing on the movie's soundtrack album are reportedly eligible for "Best Original Song" contenders.
The soundtracks, considered to be put on the list, are "Just Getting Started", "The Boys Are Back", "Can I Have This Dance", and "A Night To Remember". On January 16, The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences will screen the clips from the Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens-starring film and then decide which songs should be nominated.

'High School Musical 3: Senior Year' Wins Halloween Week
November 03, 2008 09:11:33Securing its #1 position for the second weekend consecutively, "High School Musical 3: Senior Year" remains unbeatable at the box office during the Halloween weekend. Hauling in $15.3 million, the big screen sequel to the "High School Musical" franchise has raised the total of $62 million after 10 days screening on multiple theaters across North America.
Though ending the weekend on the top slot, the Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens-starring musical has slipped to the fifth place on Friday, October 31 with $1.7 million. Still, it rebounded back on Saturday, November 1, collecting $8.2 million. Mark Zoradi, president of Disney's motion-picture group, commented, "The target audience was out collecting candy or trick-or-treating Friday, but Saturday came back like a monster."

Continuing the romantic journey of the now-high school senior lovers, Troy and Gabriella, the first of the three "High School Musical" installments brought to the big screen has beaten out its strongest competitor "Saw V" and pushed aside last week champion "Max Payne".
Apart from nailing the top position, the Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens-starring musical has also set a new box office record for the best-ever debut for a musical film. Using the widget, fans can listen to the highly-anticipated teenage drama musical's songs from "The Boys Are Back" to "High School Musical". Hitting the U.S. stores on Tuesday, October 21, the LP contains twelve original tracks sung by the film's cast ensemble that include Vanessa Hudgens, Zac Efron, Ashley Tisdale, Lucas Grabeel and Corbin Bleu. The soundtrack has been released simultaneously in two versions, the standard version and the 2-Disc Premiere Edition version. Up for a night of celebration, the "HSM 3" cast attending the event came in style. The long behind-the-scene take has been divided into four shorter videos which give out the filming of many scenes and musical numbers from the drama musical flick as well as Ashley Tisdale's reaction in seeing Sharpay Evans' locker. On Sunday, October 12 in "Senior Year" press conference, producer Bill Borden stressed that the fourth installment of the highly successful "High School Musical" is to follow saying, "Yes, there will be a fourth movie."
Hollyscoop reported that Borden further explained, "We haven't actually really even talked about 4 that much together. But we've been working so hard on 3. i can't wait to see this movie...although, idk because camp rock may be better!!! But, I still support everyone in HSM3, and i hope that there is prom drama!!!

posted by anna on Aug 08, 2009i love troy and gab but they took over the whole movie! i would have loved to see a little more sharpay, chad, taylor and ryan. they are all main characters, but what the heck...sharpay and ryan had a lot of screen time on the the first and second installment but not quite on the 3rd one...chad's role has gotten somewhat larger...he got more screen time then ryan in hsm 3. taylor who is also main character, role is so small that people sometime mistake her for a supporting character. she only preforms and has short lines in cast songs...unlike troy, gab, sharpay, chad and ryan who preformed their own individual musical numbers. even kelsi, (a sorta supporting character) sung more than her. but overall hsm 3 was a good movie. i'll give it a 7.5 OUT A 10! =)
