No plans for a lavish wedding, insisted. The songbird has laughed off reports that she and her husband are planning to stage a $4 million wedding ceremony in New York this summer.

On Monday, May 19, MSNBC reported that the newlyweds will stage a $4 million wedding ceremony in New York when they renew their vows later this summer. A source close to Mariah was quoted as saying, "It's going to be held in New York City in the next six weeks. Picture a wedding on the scale of Liza Minnelli's (to David Gest) and you'll be on the right track."

It was also reported that the extravagant event will boast a number of Hollywood notable public figures, including supermodel , whose name has already been confirmed to be on the guest list. Mariah, according to the same source, "wants over 2,000 guests and the budget will be well over $4 million and she'll have at least 14 bridesmaids."

Mariah herself, in fact, hasn't ruled out plans for the ceremony, yet insisted the reported multi-million dollar price tag is laughable. "4 milly? (million) On what? Cake? Lol (laugh out loud)," so she told MTV.co.uk.
