In an attempt to put to rest the false persistent rumors that claim their marriage is on the rocks, Madonna and her husband Guy Ritchie are planning to renew their wedding vows.
The power couple reportedly are planning to hold a private summer ceremony at their Wiltshire home to show the world that their marriage is okay despite rumors to the contrary following their adoption of Malawian son David Banda.
"Renewing their vows is the one way Guy and Madonna can show the world they are strong," a source tells the News of the World. "They've worked hard to iron out their differences to get through the tough times. They know a strong marriage takes constant effort and that they're in it for the long haul."
The source, moreover, adds "It's going to be a very emotional day and that's why they want the people who are closest to them to share it with them."
Madonna's daughter, Lourdes Maria Ciccone Leon, and the singer's best friend Gwyneth Paltrow will both do a reading. Only close family and a handful of celeb pals, including Stella McCartney, will be invited.
Madonna and Ritchie, a film director, exchanged vows on December 22, 2000. They have one son together, Rocco John Richie.
