Garth Brooks to Play Charity Gig for Wildfire Victims

The country singer is raising money to help the Californian wildfire victims through a concert in L.A.


Showing his compassion for Californian wildfire victims, Garth Brooks is raising money for them through a charity gig. Funds from the performance will be collected to compensate some of their loss and prevent future wildfires in other states.

"I'm flattered they've asked, and I'm honored to accept," the country singer said when approached by the appointed official. "This is going to take a team effort like nothing I have ever been a part of before."

The concert will take place at Los Angeles' Staples Center on January 26, 2008. Details on the concert tickets will be announced on Monday, November 26.

Brooks who announced a retirement in 2001, is back on duty with a 9-date concerts in Kansas City. Tickets to these shows, which is approximately 160,000 pieces, were snapped under two hours.
