Hollywood's most kept secret is no longer an unconfirmed speculation, Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams have called it quit.
The actor has, in an interview with men magazine GQ for its November 2007 issue, officially confirmed that he and McAdams have split several months ago, much to the dismal of their fans. "The only thing I remember is we both went down swingin' and we called it a draw," he told the publication of the break up.
"I mean, God bless The Notebook," Ryan went on telling GQ. "It introduced me to one of the great loves of my life. But people do Rachel and me a disservice by assuming we were anything like the people in that movie. Rachel and my love story is a hell of a lot more romantic than that."
On the reaction their fans showed when they heard the break up, Ryan revealed "Women are mad at me. A girl came up to me on the street and she almost smacked me. Like, 'How could you? How could you let a girl like that go?'"
About that he commented, "I feel like I want to give people hugs, they seem so sad. Rachel and I should be the ones getting hugs! Instead, we're consoling everybody else."
Ryan and McAdams both best known for their roles in the 2004 drama "The Notebook" and have since then dating. Rumors on the couple's break up first popped out back in April with The Daily News reported that Ryan was overheard telling a friend that he and McAdams have split up. Contrary to tabloid reports, the pair was later on reported to take a break from their romance to focus on their career.

To be honest i had never heard of Ryan Gosling or Rachel Mcadams before untill Sunday just gone as i watched the notebook. Such a lovely story i no it seems pretty sad but haven't stopped crying ever since watching it. The notebook has changed my life maybe one of a few lives changed as ive actually seen and now understand what true love is i thought i did before seeing the film but now everythings different. I love the pair they have made a great change in my life and was so happy to find out that the pair were a couple in real life. I would love to meet the pair in real life as would have sooo much to say to them.I hope they do get back together. I can understand that people will think that there lives were like what they were like in the notebook but unfortunatly life doesn't work like that. I wish i could have such a nice loving boyfiend like Noah Calhoun but dont forget its not real or we would all be in Allie and Noahs shoes looking for a long lost love i just wish my life was a s romantic as theres but of course we cant always have what we want xxx Ps love you Ryan Gosling your gorgeous xxx

Okay i may be a little late {{or a lot late}} but i can't believe they actually broke up i love the movie the notebook and they make such a cute couple. Ryan stated that his love life with Rachel was a lot more romantic then in the movie the notebook, well this just proves true love. they made/make the cutest couple. the best advice i could give is for them to follow there hearts and hopefully get back together to show the world what true love looks like......ps. i think you guys would make gorgeous baby's.
You know, people can't look at them as Noah and Allie. They are Ryan and Rachel. REAL PEOPLE!!! If they feel like the can make things work...great, if not, at least they got to share something special for a short while!
Well if they both decided to end it then its there choice. It is like people are making them stay together. They make a great couple. In reality they don't love each other. Plus Love is totally different then, people making 2 other people falling in love.

they make such a fine couple on screen and off screen. i saw the notebook just the other day i didn't even know they were together off screen even before i read of a break-up. i think they are made for each other, hope they get back 'in love'.
I can't believe they split. I still can't get over it...I mean, Rachel Mcadams is one of the few celebs I actually really like, and I thought that they were so good together.
