AceShowbiz - Intends to jump into the current flow of comic-book adaptations, rapper-turned-actor Ice Cube is trying via his production company CubeVision to develop "10", a film version of the graphic novel of the same name by Shannon Eric Denton and Keith Giffen.

Cube and his partner Matt Alvarez are reportedly involved in negotiations to serve as the project's producers for Dimension Films with an aim to also make it as a starring vehicle for the former. Meanwhile, Circle of Confusion's David Alpert and Rick Jacobs have already been confirmed for the positions.

As for the story, pic is said to center on a guy who gets what he thinks to be a mere junk mail. Soon after he throws away the letter, which informs he is one of nine people in a competition to stay alive, a mysterious man toting an ax shockingly shows up at his door, bringing his life into different phase afterwards.

While Gustin Nash and Jesse Cale have both been hired to pen the screenplay, no word yet on either director or production schedule. However, it is said that the flick may not likely get filmed until Cube finishes wrapping up his scenes in "Welcome Back, Kotter", also for Dimension.
