Gambit Won't Be Featured in 'X-Men: First Class'
April 29, 2009 09:04:41Unlike "X-Men Origins: Wolverine", "X-Men: First Class" won't feature the card throwing mutant Gambit. The truth of the matter has been shared by "X-Men" series producer Lauren Shuler Donner to IESB during the press day for "Wolverine" in Beverly Hills over the weekend for an exclusive video interview.
While shooting down the possibility of the Cajun thief character, which is played by Taylor Kitsch in "Wolverine", making an appearance in the "X-Men" prequel, Donner hinted that Marvel have put into consideration to give Gambit a potential solo spin-off film or cameo in other future "X-Men" films. "'There are internal discussions' about a Gambit spin-off and 'they are going to figure all that out'," so IESB reported on the producer's comment.

'First Class' to Be Another 'X-Men' Prequel
April 15, 2009 04:04:19"X-Men: First Class" is likely to be another "X-Men" prequel movie instead of being a spin-off movie. While talking about "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" on Fox Movie Channel's Life After Film School, producer Lauren Shuler Donner uncovered that the highlight of this movie will be "the first class of Xavier's school, way back when, so it's young Scott, young Jean, young Beast and that'll be really fun."
Providing more explanation on the potential plot, the producer of "The Secret Life of Bees" furthermore elaborated as quoted by Comics Continuum, "I think (the plan) is to follow some of the characters into their own stories, and weave them back into the X-Men world." She then added on what she hopes the movie will become, saying "And hopefully First Class will become its own franchise and we can follow them as they grow up."

"X-Men 4" Gets Shaped
August 15, 2006 11:08:28The X-Men's story still continues, really. LA Daily News has delightfully reported that the franchise's producer, Lauren Shuler Donner, is in development to bring out "X-Men 4" to the big screen and is currently focusing on compiling the cast for the project.
Though this sure will be such great news for superhero-flick fans, there is actually a big problem that lurks behind as Donner has indicated that contract renegotiations are the biggest stumbling blocks in order for the film to become a reality. "The newer cast members are signed, and the older cast members are not," so she has said.
