Weekend U.S Box Office of August 25-27, 2006
August 28, 2006 11:08:09Move out, folks, the "Invincible" has come to beat all standing on its way for sure. Really lives up to its title, the Disney's uplifting sports feature has gloriously taken its victory lap on the weekend box-office, scoring $17 million to claim its position on the top spot of the list and so, holding back "Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby" to stay right on its last-week position.
Though unable to accelerate its pace this time, "Ricky Bobby" turns out to still do well in its fourth week on the chart as it managed to add another $8 million to its pocket, altogether making an income of $127.8 million for Columbia Pictures. Lining up behind is the engaging road-trip comedy of "Little Miss Sunshine" which satisfyingly garnered $7.5 million to then climb four steps to number three this week.

Top 10 Box-Office Pictures for Weekend August 11-13
August 14, 2006 11:08:07Ricky Bobby still leads the race to once more take the checkered flag. Despite the coming of some rookies, "Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby" amazingly remains unmoved from its last-week position to be the champ in the box-office for the second time consecutively.
Though the NASCAR spoof's gross dropped 51 percent from its high-octane opening week, it delightfully was able to add another $23 million to its pocket during the weekend and so, halted the move of newcomer "Step Up" on the second spot as the dance flick only managed to garner around $21 million in its debut on the theaters. Taking up number three is Oliver Stone's "World Trade Center" which made its way to earn $19 million to make a respectable income of $26.8 million after opening Wednesday, August 9.

The 2006 Venice Film Festival Lineups
July 28, 2006 04:07:25As the 2006 Venice Film Festival is set to unravel less than two months, the line-up of films to be screened at this world's oldest cinema contest has been revealed on Thursday, July 27 by the organizers of the event. What comes as a surprise is that for the first time at the festival, all films competing for the top Golden Lion award will make their world premiere there.
Concerning this new move, the event's artistic director, Marco Mueller, has given his comment, saying it to be both a source of pride and a great risk. "The risk of failure is high because all these films are unknown quantities," so he commented. "But it also shows that producers realize that the Venice festival can be a useful way to introduce a certain kind of film. It is a vote of confidence in this event."

A true and griping, film. How would you feel if this happened to you? You cannot imagine the intensity of this tragedy. We need to pray for the humans that are sold into slavery even to this day, doesn't matter what color you are, but how young.
