Six Claim Rights to "Vote"

Gathering together to accompany Kevin Costner in the cast list, Dennis Hopper, Nathan Lane, Kelsey Grammer, Stanley Tucci, George Lopez, and newcomer Madeline Carroll have all landed deals to take part in populist comedy "Swing Vote."

While Costner has been confirmed to play an apathetic working-class single dad thrust on the world stage when the presidential election comes down to his vote, Hopper and Grammer are reported to become the Democratic candidate and Republican incumbent with Lane and Tucci potraying their respective campaign managers. Lopez, in the meantime, is billed as the local TV station manager whose town is descended upon by the political machinery of both parties.

Snatching a contrasting part from that in the upcoming thriller drama "Mr. Brooks" as his next acting stint, Kevin Costner has signed on to topline an indie election comedy entitled "Swing Vote" that he also sets to produce.

Here the versatile actor is billed as a single father thrust into the national spotlight when the presidential election comes down to his vote. Filming is scheduled to begin this July with Joshua Michael Stern directing from the script he wrote alongside Jason Richman.
