Weekend U.S Box Office of January 19-21, 2007
January 22, 2007 10:01:31The step dancing fever has indeed become an epidemic among the moviegoers if looking on the prolonged success of "Stomp the Yard." Yes, the urban dance drama again comes out as the No. 1 movie in its second round on the weekend box office after satisfyingly gathering $12.2 million, slightly above "Night at the Museum" that still manages to add $12 million into its second place-feedbag.
Behind the family-friendly comedy pops up musical drama "Dreamgirls" on the heels of its Golden Globe Award last Monday for the best comedy or musical feature title. Rises one notch from its last-week position, the Paramount Pictures release this time collects $8 million to firmly put newcomer "The Hitcher" on the fourth place as the thriller remake opens below pundits' expectation at $7.8 million.

Weekend U.S Box Office of January 12-14, 2007
January 15, 2007 10:01:50The spirit of Stepping is back, thanks to "Stomp the Yard", as the urban dance drama delightfully soars high in its debut to secure the top spot on the weekend box office ended January 14, 2007. Playing strongly among all demographics, the flick smoothly makes its way to gather up a satisfying number of $21.8 million, ending the three-week reign of "Night at the Museum" for the family-friendly comedy turns out to score below this time at $17.1 million.
Though forced to go one step down as the runner-up, "Museum" wonderfully still proves to be superior to its longtime rival "The Pursuit of Happyness" which fares far lower at $8.9 million in its fifth round on the chart. "Dreamgirls" and "Freedom Writers" come next to round out the big five, the former on the fourth rank holding $8.3 million while the latter on the fifth with $7.3 million.

This movie was excellent so say the least. The actors showed great dedication to their roles. It's easy for a critic to say something is not good. But you have to look at how many movies critics said were no good but the public disagreed. This movie was about heart, pride, and learning who you are...and still entertaining.

What does the critics know? This was an excellent film. Yes, there has been others pictures put out before that it may resemble, but this one has its own flavor. It is uplifting and inspirational. My son enjoys dancing and it gave him a stronger desire for the craft.

I thought that this was a great movie because it had tons of great dancing and a really good plot. This was a great movie for teens considering a Historic African-American College!!!

Ok, yes it is like all other dance movies. predictable. except at the begining (I thought Chris Brown was going to be the main guy). But I love to movies that make you want to move, so I loved this one! plus, "you've never seen steppin like this before!"
