'Star Trek' Collects Hollywood Movie Award

After taking home a number of kudos from 2009 Scream Awards, "" has added another award to its collection. On Monday, October 26 at the 13th Annual Hollywood Film Festival which was held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, the J.J. Abrams-directed sci-fi was unveiled to be the winner of Hollywood Movie Award.

Collecting the most votes from Yahoo! Movies visitors, the -starring film bested over "", "", "", "", "", "" and "" among others. Upon receiving the prize, Quinto said, "Gee, I'm shocked the online community chose to honor Star Trek."

The fourth annual Scream 2009 will take place in less than two months. With that in mind, Spike TV released the list of nominees for the awards honoring the best in sci-fi, fantasy, horror and comic genres on Monday, August 31 and unraveled that "" has shot to the top of the list with 17 nominations.

Among the multiple counts it collected, this J.J. Abrams-directed sci-fi was vying for The Ultimate Scream, Best Science Fiction Movie, Best Director, Best Ensemble, Holy Sh*t! Scenes Cut From 'Star Trek' Detailed

A shooting draft of the script for the already-released "" has fallen into the lap of TNMC and with that, several scenes left out from the final version of the J.J. Abrams-directed sci-fi are revealed. Though the site mentioned that it doesn't know how many of the scenes were actually filmed or whether it will be included in the DVD, TNMC does detailed much of the deleted scenes.

[Spoiler Alert!] One of the deleted scenes deals with Spock's birth. "The thrust of the scene is Spock's mother Amanda expressing her displeasure with Sarek when he isn't present for the birth and then doesn't understand the emotional implications of this. One gets the feeling that this probably happened an awful lot in this relationship," so the site explained.

'Star Trek' Sequel Can Have Khan and William Shatner

Talks of sequels build up even more as director J.J. Abrams opens doors to the possibility of villain Khan Noonien Singh and original star appearing in next movies. When talking to MTV on Friday, May 15, the filmmaker said, "Believe me, whether it's William Shatner or Khan ... it would be ridiculous to not be open to those ideas," after pointing out that the newly-released "" has established an alternate timeline that allows new storylines to be told.

"It'll be fun to hear what Alex and Bob are thinking about Khan," Abrams moreover said of his future meeting with screenwriters Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci to discuss the potential plots for the sequel. 'Star Trek' Prequel Charting an Unpredictable Future for Sequel

Writers Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman apparently have mapped out on the sequel to "", a prequel movie that has been released in U.S. theaters May 7. Embracing the fact that fans have already known what will happen to their favorite characters in the future, the writing duo revealed to MTV that they have thought of how to bring another movie to life by creating a parallel universe in the prequel.

"One of the obstacles that we found ourselves butting up against [when we took on the job] was this idea that we already knew the fate of the characters," Kurtzman explained. "If you're going to bring a whole new iteration of 'Trek' to life, you could never put them in any real danger - because you already know how they either died or lived."

Proving that "" is one of the highly anticipated summer movies this year, the Los Angeles premiere for the sci-fi film has been flooded with many Hollywood stars. Big screen actors, small screen stars and TV personalities were all spotted walking down the black carpet that was rolled down in front of Grauman's Chinese Theater on Thursday, April 30.

Unlike its world premiere in Sydney that was attended by several of its cast members, this Los Angeles screening saw many of the film's stars. , , , Leonard Nimoy, , , Ben Cross, Bruce Greenwood, , , and were only a handful of the cast ensemble seen attending the premiere.

Of the release date shifting, Coming Soon has reported that Paramount Pictures have pushed the sci-fi movie forward to see a Thursday, May 7 release in the theaters across the U.S. rather than a Friday, May 8 opening. The movie reportedly will be debuted starting at 7 P.M.

Release date changes aside, several new images from the J.J. Abrams-directed film have been put out. Two Fresh 'Star Trek' Clips Unveiled

Hot on the heels of "" world premiere in Sydney, Australia, Paramount Pictures have unleashed two brand new clips from the action fantasy movie. One of the clips, "Shot of Love", comes from MTV, while the other which is entitled "Disease and Danger" is debuted via Yahoo! Movies. While each is less than one minute long, the snippets reel in more fresh footage.

The "Shot of Love" clip shares a closer look at the time Kirk flirts with Uhura in a bar. While at first Uhura looks down on the future captain of the U.S.S. Enterprise, she soon finds him interesting. This snippet may look familiar as it displays the scene that leads up to the bar fight shown in some of the TV spots.

MTV has got its hands on a pack of "" trading cards, which uncovers a bunch of new pictures from the much awaited sci-fi film. Nine in all, some of the photos on the trading cards feature scenes and characters that have been outed previously, while some others give out never-before-seen images.

Another television promo for "" has made its way out. Reeling in several new footage and scene, this new TV spot was debuted during the broadcast of the 22nd Kids' Choice Awards on Nickelodeon. Aimed at a younger crowd, the promo video is similar to the film's first trailer, but removes the violent and explicit parts.

Some of the extended shots seen in this TV spot include a close-up footage of baby Spock, a shot of 's Spock at Vulcan council, and a new angle on the scene wherein Uhura and Spock share a hug. While the poster of Uhura shows a sideway look into the human crew of the starship from the United States of Africa, the individual one-sheet for Nero displays a full frontal shot of the villain, exposing up-close his structural face and tattoos. As promised earlier, the official trailer of "" has come out on Monday, November 17. Coming out hours after the bootleg version makes its way out, the outing of the trailer is accompanied by the posting of J.J. Abrams' sci-fi movie's television promo by IGN.

The two videos posted below let out similar footage with different running time. While the trailer takes more than two minutes to be fully viewed, the TV spot is just over a minute long. During a press event in London, J.J. Abrams has screened his four finished "" clips and now the details of the clips have been shared. Providing major spoilers to the forthcoming sci-fi movie, Empire Online jotted down the detailed story seen in each of the clips shown at the Vue West End in Leicester Square on Tuesday, November 11.

Starting with the first clip, Empire described that the first snippet displays the scene where young and drunk Kirk is involved in a bar fight with a group of cadets while he is having a conversation with Uhura. After Entertainment Weekly brought forward a slew of images from "" few weeks back, Empire Online is now sharing a fresh series of pictures from the sci-fi film. The brand new images are taken from Empire Magazine's newest issue and they present some of the new crew from the U.S.S. Enterprise.

The first pic which is posted at the news photo shows off Spock standing on the bridge of Enterprise in front of the starship's viewscreen. The actor, who has played Data in numerous "Star Trek" installments, has decided to not take part in the project, announcing it as the franchise celebrated its 40th anniversary last Friday, September 8.

"I don't think I should play Data anymore. I think I'm too old to play him anymore to be honest, " so he said. "I think it would look stupid putting that make-up on me at this point. There certain characters that I think work in a youthful way and I think I really skated along the edge in the last couple movies as it was."

One great amazing movie.The cast is excellent and the storyline as well. Love the way they brought in the old Mr. Spock. Special effects are brilliant and the soundtrack is just great. A movie you just have to see.
