A Possible Look Into the Set of 'Star Trek'
November 29, 2008 11:11:57A behind-the-scene video of the possible "Star Trek" set has been brought forward via Teaser Trailer. The short footage of the snowy set is said to be taken back in February when Fox Channel 11 Los Angeles sent one of their helicopters to fly over the movie set. In it, the Fox Channel reporter explains what is visible and where the set is taking place.
From Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman, the screenwriters of hit action film "Transformers", comes a new version of the "Star Trek" movie. To start with the time Federation starship USS Kelvin is attacked by a vicious Romulan, it will chronicle the early days of James T. Kirk and his fellow U.S.S. New 'Star Trek' Trailer Brings Old Spock Into the Screen
November 26, 2008 10:11:53An Internet-only-version trailer of "Star Trek" has been let out exclusively by AICN and it brings a nice surprise to the sneak preview. While most of the footage shown are similar to the theatrical trailer, this new trailer also gives out the first look into the older Spock portrayed by Leonard Nimoy.
The footage of Nimoy's Spock will be seen when the trailer hits the 2:14 mark, after the destructive attack to U.S.S. Kelvin. Though short, the snippet of the older Spock sees him saying, "Live long and prosper."

Demonic Nero and Sultry Uhura in New 'Star Trek' Character Posters
November 22, 2008 08:11:29Continuing to promote "Star Trek" at warp speed, Paramount Pictures have released a pair of new character posters. In similar style of the earlier released posters of Kirk and Spock, the two fresh black and white images present U.S.S. Enterprise's communications officer Uhura and Romulan villain Nero.
While the poster of Uhura shows a sideway look into the human crew of the starship from the United States of Africa, the individual one-sheet for Nero displays a full frontal shot of the villain, exposing up-close his structural face and tattoos. Uhura is played by "Guess Who" star Zoe Saldana, whereas Nero is portrayed by "Hulk" actor Eric Bana.

Official Trailer and a New TV Spot for 'Star Trek'
November 18, 2008 10:11:12As promised earlier, the official trailer of "Star Trek" has come out on Monday, November 17. Coming out hours after the bootleg version makes its way out, the outing of the trailer is accompanied by the posting of J.J. Abrams' sci-fi movie's television promo by IGN.
The two videos posted below let out similar footage with different running time. While the trailer takes more than two minutes to be fully viewed, the TV spot is just over a minute long. Both of the videos present the early Starfleet careers of all Star Trek characters as well as give introduction to the new villain, Nero.

Opened with a shot of mid-60's Corvette convertible tearing down the road across country side, the trailer shows a muscle car heading towards a cliff. Before it goes off, the driver, a young boy, leaps out from the car. When he stands up, a space-cop driving a hover bike asks him to identify himself, which he answers valiantly, "James Tiberius Kirk".

Some Have Watched 'Star Trek' Clips
November 12, 2008 04:11:18During a press event in London, J.J. Abrams has screened his four finished "Star Trek" clips and now the details of the clips have been shared. Providing major spoilers to the forthcoming sci-fi movie, Empire Online jotted down the detailed story seen in each of the clips shown at the Vue West End in Leicester Square on Tuesday, November 11.
Starting with the first clip, Empire described that the first snippet displays the scene where young and drunk Kirk is involved in a bar fight with a group of cadets while he is having a conversation with Uhura. The fight is stopped when Captain Pike comes into the bar. Sitting down with the young lad, he then tells Kirk not to waste his life and suggests him to join the Starfleet Academy.

First Full Enterprise Photo From 'Star Trek' Unearthed
November 12, 2008 09:11:54Following the release of two "Star Trek" black and white character posters previously, another photo from the much awaited sci-fi fantasy movie has come out. The fresh image shared by Entertainment Weekly (EW) presents the first look of U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 and shows off the starship's new design. In the picture, it can also be seen that a small starfleet shuttlecraft is approaching the Enterprise.
Explaining about the many similarities to be found in the new Enterprise with the original, director J.J. Abrams tells EW, "If you're going to do Star Trek there are many things you cannot change." He then adds, "The Enterprise is a visual touchstone for so many people. So if you're going to do the Enterprise, it better look like the Enterprise, because otherwise, what are you doing?"

Two New Black and White 'Star Trek' Character Posters Arrive

In their reports, both of the tipsters reveal that the promotional video will present teenage Kirk in trouble, Spock growing up, and quick cuts of spaceships in battle.
The trailer is said to be opened with a shot of mid-60's Corvette convertible tearing down the road across country side. Hotly pursuit by policeman, the muscle car heads toward a cliff. Fresh 'Star Trek' Photos Give Out Uhura and Other Enterprise Crew

The brand new images are taken from Empire Magazine's newest issue and they present some of the new crew from the U.S.S. Enterprise.
The first pic which is posted at the news photo shows off Spock standing on the bridge of Enterprise in front of the starship's viewscreen. The second one put below displays Captain Kirk and Hikaru Sulu in armored EVA suits in what seems to be a space shuttle. Giving further information on the particular photo, TrekMovie hints that the man on the left can be Greg Ellis's Chief Engineer Olsen. Last of all, the third image takes a closer look at Uhura.

November, the Month for 'Star Trek' First Trailer
October 14, 2008 09:10:21Words are, the first full length trailer of the forthcoming "Star Trek" movie can be expected to come out sometime in November. Sparking the speculation, TrekMovie claimed that this trailer will present real footage from the J.J. Abrams' film and won't be a mere teaser. It is also hoped to display the Enterprise exterior and the Enterprise bridge. In addition, the editing part of the trailer allegedly is still underway.
Though TrekMovie's source insisted that the theatrical trailer will be coming out on the particular month, it is still unclear to which movie, the trailer will be attached. Observing on the up-and-coming Paramount/DreamWorks films, the publication speculated that the promotional video may fall into the big screen with animated sequel "Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa" on November 7 or with musical drama "The Soloist" on November 21.

Part for William Shatner in 'Star Trek' Was Written

'Star Trek' Offers a New Image on Romulans

From the One Who Has Seen 'Star Trek' First Cut

Though many fans and sci-fi movie lovers are wondering how the eleventh film will look like, not much has been really shared. Paramount Planning on 'Star Trek' Sequel

Little Spock of 'Star Trek' Found in Jacob Kogan

On Wednesday, February 27, TrekMovie.com reported that the third and the youngest actor to play the famous Vulcan-Human hybrid is the star of 2006 psychological thriller "Joshua" Jacob Kogan.
It was said that the 12-year-old actor will make a brief appearance in the J.J. Abrams' film. TrekMovie noted that the young co-star of Sam Rockwell can be seen at least in one scene with Winona Ryder, who plays Amanda Grayson, Spock's mother. 'Star Trek' Release Date Pushed Back to 2009

Reports claimed that the release date of the sci-fi adventure film has been pushed back from December 25 to May 8, 2009 by Paramount Pictures.
Variety reported that Paramount reasoned that the move was part of a major reshuffle in the Paramount and DreamWorks' release date schedule. The studio further claimed that the shuffling of the date was made because the film is potentially will gross higher if set for summer release. By releasing it on May 8, "Trek" has yet to have strong competitors. But, the film will be opened a week after and before the release of action fantasy "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" and drama thriller "Angels & Demons" respectively.

A graduate of London's Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts, Cross shot to worldwide fame through his performance as runner Harold Abrahams in the Oscar-winning 1981 feature "Chariots of Fire." The British thesp next will be seen in the upcoming action flick "Hero Wanted" which Brian Smrz directs for Screen Gems.

Provided by JFX Online, the photos, one of which you can see above left, mostly feature Zachary Quinto as young Mr. Spock, complete with his Vulcan ears. There are also shots of Abrams discussing something with Quinto, though. Check the link above for more.

Star Trek Gets Winona Ryder and Rachel Nichols on Board

Recent reports confirmed that Oscar nominee Winona Ryder and "P2" star Rachel Nichols are both poised to take part in "Star Trek", which "Lost" creator J.J. Abrams is set to direct.
Ryder is claimed by Variety to play the mother of Spock, Amanda Grayson, who is also the first human wife of Sarek. Grayson, as described by StarTrek.com, was "a schoolteacher from Earth who married the Vulcan diplomat Sarek and gave birth to Spock in 2230" and "reunited with her son when she accompanied her husband aboard the Enterprise during the Babel Conference in 2267."

The character was first featured in the original pilot of the series, created by Gene Roddenberry, but was failed to grace the audience as the pilot was rejected by CBS then NBC. He, however, was later weaved back into "Star Trek" lore and showed up in a two-part episode.
