"Saw III" Rated Rare 18-Plus in France
November 22, 2006 01:11:11Known to be a liberal country, France, through its minister of culture Renaud Donnedieu de Vabres, has surprisingly issued on yesterday, November 21 a rare statement deciding anyone under 18 years old to be barred from watching "Saw III", which opens this week in the country.
"The violence and incessant and unbearable sadism of scenes explicitly linked to physical and moral torture fully justified the decision to ban the film (for minors)," the statement said.

Weekend Box Office of October 27-29, 2006
October 30, 2006 11:10:11Seems that moviegoers really know how to welcome Halloween properly in their own way at the weekend as it turns out that "Saw III" is the one that has gained the highest score in the weekend box-office competition of October 27-29, 2006.
Snatching a large sum of $33.6 million, the third installment of the horror franchise gloriously runs far ahead all its competitors, particularly runner-up "The Departed" and second runner-up "The Prestige" which collected $9.8 million and $9.5 million respectively.

There's Real Blood in "Saw III" Poster
October 11, 2006 10:10:08It's kinda unusual way, if not creepy, to promote a film feature. Variety reported that a vial of blood from "Saw" franchise star Tobin Bell has been mixed with red ink for the new poster of "Saw III." About 1,000 posters printed will be sold online for $20 each while the first one will be auctioned off with all proceeds going to the American Red Cross.
"We decided to do a poster and he's (Bell) wearing a red cloak," so said Lionsgate marketing honcho Tim Palen as he revealed the process behind his uncommon idea. "I was talking to the printer and asked what we could do to get the deepest blood red. I asked if it would be possible to use actual blood. There was silence. He said, 'We could try, but are you serious?' I said I was dead serious."

Plan Changed on "Saw III" Preview
August 28, 2006 01:08:31The plan has indeed changed. After previously announced that the first scene of "Saw III" will exclusively be shown in conjunction with the theatrical release of "Crank" on September 1, Lionsgate suddenly steers into another direction. Considering the footage to be too intense for exhibition, the company is now looking for an AgeGate/age appropriate online outlet to debut the scene instead.
As this means that there will be no entire-first scene preview of the movie on cinemas, the announcement consequently blows out the possibility of the flick to be the first film feature in Lionsgate's history to have an entire scene previewed prior to its release as well as the hopes of fans who have waited in anticipation for the day to come.

Exclusive "Saw III" Scene to Be Presented in "Crank" Release
August 25, 2006 12:08:18Well, here is one good news for those who can't wait to get a peek of "Saw III." Lionsgate as the film's distributor has firmly confirmed that the first scene of it will be shown exclusively in conjunction with the wide release of "Crank" on theaters on September 1. The scene presented will showcase the first of Jigsaw's games in the movie.
With this announcement, "Saw III" then will be the first film feature in Lionsgate's history to have an entire scene previewed prior to its release. The horror picture itself is scheduled to come up on cinemas on October 27 with Tobin Bell reprising his role as serial killer Jigsaw.

i think this movie trailer doesn't show enough about what the movie is about, but overall it looks like a good movie

Could someone explain to me why watching people, even actors, in a state of pain and gore, is entertaining?

Saw 3 while badly reviewed by critics, does not disappoint. Jigsaw plays his most intricate game yet and you find yourself drawn in. This movie also ties up odds and ends from the first two.
