'RocknRolla' World Premiere Marked by Madonna's Surprising Appearance
September 02, 2008 05:09:04On Monday, September 1, Warner Bros. Pictures were hosting an eventful evening for their forthcoming "RocknRolla" as the action thriller film rolled down red carpet at the Odeon cinema in West End, London in celebration of its world premiere. Making the special event even more merry, the red carpet saw a surprise appearance from Guy Ritchie's superstar wife, Madonna.
Arriving minutes before the film was screened, the pop legend who was dressed in a short black Stella McCartney dress strolled down the carpet arm-in-arm with her director husband. Beside Madonna and Ritchie, the premiere was also attended by many of the cast ensemble, including Gerard Butler, Thandie Newton, Idris Elba, Geoff Bell, Jimi Mistry, Mark Strong, Tom Wilkinson and Tom Hardy, as well as the film's producers, Joel Silver and Susan Downey.

Superb Opening Credits of Guy Ritchie's 'RocknRolla' Unearthed
August 25, 2008 03:08:33Following the release of its trailers, the latest Guy Ritchie's gangster flick "RocknRolla" has given fans another treat with a cool opening credits. Courtesy of its graphic designer Danny Yount himself, the title sequence is basically presented in animation exposing Yount's creative and stylish credits sequence.
The full opening credits can be enjoyed via DannyYount.com. Meanwhile, Yount is the Emmy Award recipient for the category of Outstanding Main Title Design for television series "Six Feet Under". He is also known for his works on the closing credits of "Iron Man" and the title credits of "The Invasion", "The Reaping" and "Kiss Kiss Bang Bang".

'RocknRolla' Sequel Lining Up
August 13, 2008 09:08:56Guy Ritchie's latest action thriller "RocknRolla" is yet to hit the theaters, at least it won't be out until October 31. However, it looks like the 39-year-old filmmaker could not wait to move on with its sequel, especially since he has finished the "RocknRolla 2" script.
On the sequel screenplay, he confessed, "I've written one. So people better go see it. It'll allow me to make the next one." That remark has sparked speculation that the husband of pop legend Madonna is even ready to shoot the follow-up movie to the underworld thriller about a group of various gangsters attempting to get their hands on a share of a multi millions real estate scam.

Slapfest International Trailer for Guy Richie's 'RocknRolla' Premiered

At least, that's what is implied through the international trailer of his latest British gangster movie, "RocknRolla". The awesome looking trailer has been outed courtesy of Empire Online.
Giving a great introduction to the action thriller film, the video footage focuses on a troubled rock star presumed dead, a rare and expensive painting, American thugs, Russian mafia, British gangsters, and one Russian deal that ties them all together. In the trailer that is filled with men being slapped off, viewers are also presented with shirtless Gerard Butler and witty remarks that provide a bit of a comedy side of the movie.

Madonna's Hubby to Make 'RocknRolla' a Trilogy?
March 25, 2008 12:03:06Guy Richie, the director husband of pop legend Madonna, has been reported to be planning to make his latest action thriller "RocknRolla" a three set of feature films. MTV Movies Blog broke out the speculations following an interview with the film's lead actress Thandie Newton.
On the occasion, the co-star of Terrence Howard and Matt Dillon in "Crash" revealed that the action film penned, produced and helmed by Richie is the first of the trilogy set to be made by the "Revolver" director. "'RocknRolla' is one of three films and Guy's keen to get going on that straight away," explained the 35-year-old actress. "[The second and third films in the series] are going to be excellent. I can't wait."

A caper movie, the project is set in motion when a Russian mobster orchestrates a crooked land deal and millions of dollars are thrown up for grabs, with all of London's criminal underworld players wanting in on the action. Butler is said to play One Two, a street-smart mobster who has learned to play both sides of the fence while Elba will be his partner Mumbles.

May 14, 2007 03:05:27Finally finds a way back into the big screen after 2005's "Revolver", Guy Ritchie has struck deals to direct a caper movie titled "RocknRolla" of which script he also wrote.
Said to be made in the same vein as the filmmaker's "Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels" and "Snatch", the flick is being eyed to enter production this summer under Dark Castle Entertainment Banner with Warner Bros. Pictures to distribute.
