The magician's show has proven to be a great success that really charms the audience.

Opening at $14.8 million, Christopher Nolan's film adaptation of the tale of two Victorian age stage magicians "The Prestige" has satisfyingly bested all of its competitors to take down the weekend box office's no. 1 slot of October 20-22, 2006, forcing mob flick "The Departed" to once more become the runner-up in its third spin on the chart.

Music is interesting. But, movie also is challenging. Thus rock star David Bowie is joining the cast of "The Prestige," which already include the likes of Hugh Jackman, Christian Bale and Michael Caine.

"The Prestige" is a drama action genre which script is being worked by film director Christopher Nolan. Based on Christopher Priest's 1996 novel and was adapted by Nolan's brother, Jonathan Nolan, who also wrote the short story on which Nolan's breakout movie, "Memento" was based, the film is scheduled to shoot in January with a budget of $40 million range.

Prestige is something mattering much that Christian Bale and Hugh Jackman is competing for. Though it isn't in reality, still it is interesting to be watched. See how the two actors, as rival magicians in turn-of-the-century London, battle each other for trade secrets. Follows their intense rivalry that turns them into murderers.

The film titled "The Prestige" is based on Christopher Priest's 1996 novel of the same name and was adapted by Jonathan Nolan. The $40 million project is about to be directed by Nolan's brother, Christopher, and will begin shooting in January with Warner Bros Pictures to distribute internationally.
