"Perfume" Swept Lolas in Technical Slots
May 05, 2007 11:05:22Nominated for eight categories at the 57th annual German Film Awards, also known as the Lolas, gothic thriller "Perfume: The Story of a Murderer" delightfully collected most honors as the prestigious ceremony took place yesterday night, May 4, at Berlin's Palais am Funkturm.
Being triumphant in technical categories, the picture garnered trophies for Best Cinematography also Best Editing as well as Best Set, Costume, and Sound Design. Though so, the movie failed to win helmer Tom Tykwer the Best Director title, which was eventually nabbed by Marcus H. Rosenmueller for "Grave Decisions."

March 20, 2007 04:03:43Already scored five nominations at this year's Saturn Awards, now it's chance for "Perfume: The Story of a Murderer" to strive high in its own homeland as the gothic thriller successfully took most nominations for the 57th annual German Film Awards, colloquially known as the Lolas, set to take place at Palais am Funkturm in Berlin on May 4.
Scooping up eight nods together with prison drama "Four Minutes", the picture delightfully landed slot in top prize of Best Picture and Best Director slot for Tom Tykwer. The rest six nominations it garnered were in rather technical ones namely Best Cinematography, Best Editing, Best Set Design, Best Costume Design, Best Score, and Best Sound Design.

September 27, 2006 01:09:19Turns out that "Pirates of the Caribbean; Dead Man's Chest" once again has to draw back after its last-week triumph overseas as the throne now belongs to "Perfume: The Story of a Murderer."
Based on final studio data issued Monday, September 25, the German thriller has successfully garnered $11.3 million from five markets only to claim no. 1 on international weekend box-office ended September 24, 2006 and so, beats out the Disney's swashbuckler which this time managed to take in $7.3 million from 34 countries.

July 06, 2005 11:07:26Tom Tykwer direction entitled "Perfume: The Story of a Murderer" will begin shooting in Germany next week, with an entire shot in English in a Munich studio. The movie, slated for autumn 2006 release, starring Dustin Hoffman as the perfumer, Baldini, and British actor Ben Wishaw as Grenouille who shows up Baldini by effortlessly making complex perfumes that lead him on a strange and relentless criminal quest.
