Schwartzman plays Marc Pease, ten years out of high school and still coasting on his success in high school musicals under the tutelage of Mr. Gribble, his teacher and mentor, to be played by Stiller. Over the course of one day, as Gribble oversees the opening night of another show, former student Pease finally exorcises his demons and realizes there's more to life than Broadway artistry.
