Rihanna Insists 'Black Widow' Casting a Rumor

Rihanna has grown to be one of the successful R 'n' B stars of today with hit songs like "SOS", "Umbrella" and "Don't Stop the Music". It is no wonder that buzzes keep on hovering around her. And, sure is when there was a say that the songstress is heading to the movie biz by landing a role opposite Mos Def in "Mama Black Widow", the media went frenzy over it. But, what the Barbadian singer really has to say about it?

Talking to MTV, the 20-year-old was quick to come with a denial over her involvement with the Muse Productions' drama. When asked about the matter, she insisted that it was merely a rumor and she herself was surprised by the outing of the news. "No, that's a rumor," claimed the singer who is associated with R 'n' B hunk Chris Brown. "I don't know how people came up with that." Nevertheless, in the taped interview which can be seen below, Rihanna didn't close the door on the possibility to appear on the big screen stating that she is pretty much interested with the thought, though she won't do it with "Widow".

Nowadays, Hollywood seems to have a new trend in the entertainment industry since many of successful actors are trying their luck in the music industry and vice versa. With reports from the music biz buzzing around Scarlett Johansson's attempt in debuting her recording, the R 'n' B princess, Rihanna is going to expand her fans base by adding moviegoers to the already expanding numbers of her fanatics.

Having massive success with her hit songs "Umbrella" and "Don't Stop the Music" under her sleeves, the Barbados-born singer reportedly is turning her attention to land a movie role. The singer who is romantically linked to Chris Brown is now said to be going to play in a drama movie entitled "Mama Black Widow" co-starring Kerry Washington, Mos Def and Macy Gray. The speculation of her starring in the movie perhaps holds some truth in it, after all she has expressed interest in acting saying, "I don't know how good I'll be at it, but it's something that I want to try."

This movie is going to be a great film I read the book and I know the movie is going to be great..... Good choice with casting Rihanna she's a perfect fit for "carol"

I love Rihanna. Rihanna is the best singer in the world.I'm so excited to see the movie.I know Rihanna is going to very well on her role.I' m so happy for her.I have almost all Rihanna's songs on my ipod and including Rihanna's hit single ''Pon de Replay''.
