The Next & Final Harry Potter Book to be Released in 2007?
May 29, 2006 10:05:14Following the success of the highly anticipated "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire", the next and final Harry Potter book is "likely" to be released in 2007. That's according to Bloomsbury publishing director Liz Calder.
Calder allegedly said at the British Council's Creative Future conference in India this week "One more 'Harry Potter' only but she (Rowling) said from the beginning that she would write seven. So she would not write another one after this. But Rowling would write other books for us".

2006 Saturn Awards Nominations
February 21, 2006 03:02:46The Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror films has announced the nominations for the 32nd Annual Saturn Awards. Leading the pack is "Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith" which is up for 10 nominations. Following close behind is "Batman Begins" with nine nominations, while "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe" and "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" receive 8 nominations each.
"Revenge" ups for the categories of Best Science Fiction Film, Best Actor for Hayden Christensen, Best Actress for Natalie Portman, Best Supporting Actor for Ian McDiarmid, Best Direction and Best Writing for George Lucas, Best Music, Best Costume, Best Make-Up, and Best Special Effects. "Narnia" on the other hand is nominated for Best Fantasy Film, Best Actress for Tilda Swinton, Best Performance By A Younger Actor for William Moseley, Best Direction, Best Writing, Best Costume, Best Make-Up, and Best Special Effects.

Exhibitor Relations' Top 10 Moneymakers of 2005
January 04, 2006 01:01:50Another score was made by "Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith" after the flick gloriously became the only movie that managed to collect over $300 million in a year and that was the title of 2005's Top-Grossing Movie of Top 10 Moneymakers list compiled by the box-office tracking firm Exhibitor Relations. Also mentioned as the Top-Grossing PG-13 Film, "Sith" was followed by "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" on the second place and "War of the Worlds" on the third.
The Top-Grossing PG-rated Film, "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe", took the fourth rank while "Wedding Crashers" came next along with the title of Top-Grossing R-rated Film. Lining up behind "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" and "Batman Begins" was "Madagascar" which made its way to be the Top-Grossing Animated Film. The last two movies on the list were "Mr and Mrs Smith" with $186.3 million and "Hitch" that scored $177.6 million throughout the whole year.

Films Competing for the FX Oscar
December 19, 2005 01:12:15The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has on Dec 16 announced the 7th films competing for Achievement in Visual Effects for the 78th Academy Awards. Among those are "Batman Begins," "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory," "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe," "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire," "King Kong," "Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith," and "War of the Worlds."
Those seven films will have their fifteen-minute clip reels screened for the Visual Effects Award Nominating Committee on Wednesday, January 25, 2006. Members will then vote to decide three out of the 7th films for Oscar consideration.

Harry Potter Lost His Flying Car
October 29, 2005 11:10:49Bad news. Harry Potter lost his flying car. The Ford Anglia used in the Harry Potter films was reported stolen from South West Film Studios in St. Agnes, Cornwall, police said Friday.
Moreover, police explained that the blue car wasn't believed to be in driving condition, so the thieves would have needed to tow the car or put it on a trailer. It is believed that the car was stolen on Wednesday or Thursday.

Harry Potter & Musicians in Action
October 25, 2005 02:10:00The next Harry Potter movie will be distinct. "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" from director Mike Newell, which will open November 18 in North America, will star several musicians. They are Pulp vocalist Jarvis Cocker, Radiohead guitarist Jonny Greenwood and drummer Phil Selway. All of them are set to play members of a band that performs at the Yule Ball at the Hogwarts School.
Rounded out by producer Jason Buckle and former Add N to (X) principal Steve Claydon, the three of them would sing "Do the Hippogriff," "This Is the Night" and "Magic Works," all of which can be found on the "Goblet" soundtrack, due November 15 via Warner Bros. Anyway, unlike its previous series which were worked by John Williams, this fourth installment of Harry Potter movie was created by Patrick Doyle.
