First Look at The Green Hornet's Costume
October 01, 2009 10:10:15First taste on how Britt Reid will look like in his Green Hornet costume in "The Green Hornet" has been shared. Splash News has posted a video from the set of the masked vigilante adaptation which contains a brief glimpse at Green Hornet's costume. It isn't clear whether the man behind the costume is Seth Rogen or his stunt double.
Aside from exposing first look at the vigilante's costume, the video also displays some on-set explosions. A peek at Kato in his crime-fighting costume is also available to view. The footage from the set can be enjoyed via Splash News.

'The Green Hornet' Hit With a Bomb Scare
September 30, 2009 03:09:35Mishap apparently isn't ready to leave the set of "The Green Hornet". After a car chase scene went awry in early September, the Los Angeles set of the masked vigilante adaptation saw a bomb scare unraveling on Tuesday, September 29 as crew members found an unidentified metal object lying in the parking lot.
Following the discovery, the crew alerted the security which led to response from LAPD bomb squad. Preventing the worse, the squad reportedly blew up the object on the spot with a robot. A police spokesman told E! News, "Everything is clear, they only found a smoke detector." It is unclear whether the stars, including Seth Rogen and Cameron Diaz, were on the set during the incident.

While promoting "Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans", the lead actor in the "National Treasure" series reasons he has a different take on the film's villain Chudnofsky from director Michel Gondry and star/co-writer Seth Rogen.
According to The Canadian Press, the Academy Award-winner claimed he "wasn't interested in just being just a straight-up bad guy who was killing people willy-nilly." He further said, " 'The Green Hornet' was something that I wanted to do, I think Michel Gondry is very talented and I had hoped it would work but I think Seth Rogen and Michel had a different take on the character."

'The Green Hornet' Finds Villain in Christoph Waltz

According to Deadline Hollywood, Christoph Waltz has signed on to play the villain in the Columbia Pictures action comedy. He is set to play Chudnofsky, a Los Angeles crime boss who attempts to form a supermafia by uniting the city's various gangs.
The Colonel Hans Landa of the Quentin Tarantino's World War II epic replaces Nicolas Cage who was in talks for the role but walked away when he and the studio were not able to come to terms on a deal. The casting places him among the cast ensemble that includes Seth Rogen, Jay Chou and Cameron Diaz.

Stunt Goes Awry on 'The Green Hornet' Set
September 09, 2009 10:09:51Having just kicked off its production last week, "The Green Hornet" was already hit with an on-set mishap over the weekend. E! News reported that the filming of a car chase scene has gone awry when a stunt driver, who was reportedly manning the Black Beauty car, lost control of the car and crashed into the front of the Creative Artists Agency's headquarters.
When the set accident took place, some of the film stars, Seth Rogen, Cameron Diaz and Edward James Olmos, were shooting a shootout before the offices of the Hollywood's premiere talent agency. They were not involved in the incident, and while a portion of the driveway wall was damaged, the stuntman escaped without injury.

Release Date for 'The Green Hornet' Pushed Back Five Months
August 31, 2009 04:08:54While some progress in the cast ensemble indicated that "The Green Hornet" is moving forward, the film's release date has been pushed back five months, making it a winter film instead of a summer one. Box Office Mojo was the first which hinted the film has been delayed by mentioning that the old release date July 9, 2010 has been moved to December 17, 2010.
Talking about the delay, Seth Rogen, who has been attached to star in the film, said he is relieved about the date change as it gives some benefits in the film-making process. "We're both relieved and psyched about the change," he stated. "It gives more time for post, which would have been immensely rushed if we were to come out in the summer."

On Friday, August 7, Sony Pictures made the announcement that the Taiwanese singer-actor has joined the cast as martial arts master Kato, the role originally made famous by Bruce Lee in its TV series version.
"THE GREEN HORNET gets his Kato in Taiwanese Superstar Jay Chou," the studio tweeted on the casting confirmation before issuing the official statement completed with commentary from both the actor and director Michel Gondry. In the casting call, it is mentioned that for the Kato role, the studio is looking for a man with Asian ethnicities. What part she will tackle in the project hasn't been disclosed. On Friday, September 19, Columbia Pictures have let out a press release announcing that the 46-year-old has been tapped to take the role once made famous by legendary Bruce Lee. According to the paper, Rogen is apparently keen to have Hong Kong actor-director Stephen Chow to play Kato, the titular character's sidekick formerly played by the deceased martial arts superstar Bruce Lee. Chow, considered the finest Hong Kong screen comedian since Michael Hui, is probably most well-known to international audience for his recent works of "Shaolin Soccer" and "Kung Fu Hustle."

Columbia Pictures Stung By "Green Hornet"
March 21, 2007 10:03:10It's time for the classic crime-fighting hero to get a big screen treatment. Columbia Pictures, through its presidents of production Matt Tolmach and Doug Belgrad, has announced on March 20 that it will transform the masked man's tale into a film feature.
Titled "The Green Hornet" just like the character's name, the picture will be produced by Original Film and Neal H. Moritz from whom Columbia optioned the film rights, which he had obtained from Green Hornet Inc. Meanwhile, Original's Ori Marmur will oversee development of the project on behalf of Moritz's production company.
