Featurette: Jeremy Podeswa Explains About 'Fugitive Pieces'

A new featurette on the Samuel Goldwyn Films' drama "" has come out on the net. The video footage showcases the description of the film made by its director/scribbler Jeremy Podeswa as well as the compilation of clips from the film starring , Rade Serbedzija and .

The featurette begins with an eerie scene in which a little boy opens his house front door and runs into the woods. Then, it is cut into the explanation given by Podeswa who stated that the film is generally about a young Poland boy whose family was killed at the height the World War II. As the clips take over again, the director said that the boy is saved by a Greek man who brings him to Greek and hide him there.

The drama film based on best-selling novel by Canadian poet Anne Michaels "" has come out online with five new clips revealing bits of the film's first look aside from its earliertrailer. The clips were let out to give future audiences ideas what the film is all about.

Scheduled to be released on May 2, 2008, "Pieces" follows the story of Jakob Beer as he grew from a young boy whose parents were murdered and sister kidnapped by Nazi soldier during the World War II to a mature man whose life still haunted by his past. Directed and penned by "Nip/Tuck" helmer Jeremy Podeswa, the Samuel Goldwyn Films' pic is starred by , and Ayelet Zurer among others.

Fulfilling the promise of taking more attention on serious personal, political, and emotional drama, the 2007 Toronto International Film Festival got it right in choosing one that fits the bill by screening "" to mark its opening on Thursday, September 6.

A cautionary tale about the lasting impact of deeds, good or bad, through the eyes of a boy suffering from Holocaust survivor guilt, the picture was screened at Toronto's Roy Thomson Hall as opening night gala presentation with producer Robert Lantos, director Jeremy Podeswa, and cast members of the film all coming.

Early Lineup Confirmed for the 32nd TIFF

Though the official announcement won't come up until Tuesday, June 26, a series of film features have been confirmed to be screened at this year's Toronto International Film Festival with Jeremy Podeswa's "" becoming the opening movie for the event as it comes to shape on September 6, 2007.

Locking in well-known titles, the festival has reportedly submitted the Coen Brothers' Cannes competition entry "" and period drama "" in the list. Also included in the lineup are foreign productions like "" and "The Flight of the Red Balloon" as well as local flicks "" and "Shake Hands with the Devil."
