Not only the giant ape ruling the US, but also UK box office with an opening take of 6 million pounds. Comes at 2nd place is "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe," one place ahead of "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" at No.3.
"Flightplan," "The Family Stone," "Lassie," and "March of The Penguins," are all securing the 4th to 7th position in a row. The No. 8 movie on the chart is animated Christmas movie "The Polar Express," followed after at 9th by Bollywood romantic-comedy "Bluff Master" and thriller "The Constant Gardener" rounding out at No. 10.

At No. 3 is "Saw 2," which taking in $17.2 million, ahead of "The Legend of Zorro" at 4th with $10 million and "Prime" at 5th with $5.3 million. Securing the 6th position is "Dreamer: Inspired by a True Story," taking in $4.8 million.

October 24, 2005 02:10:15This weekend's box office is "Doom." The movie, adapted from the sci-fi video game, debuts atop at box office, scoring $15.4 million in ticket sales in its first three days. Enjoy the second success is "Dreamer: Inspired by a True Story," which earns $9.3 million, ahead of "Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit" at No. 3 with $8.7 million, and "The Fog" at No. 4 with $7.3 million.
The Warner Bros. release "North Country" secures the 5th place with only $6.5 million, followed right behind at No. 6 by "Elizabethtown," which taking in $5.7 million. In the meantime, "Flightplan" takes another $4.7 million to place at No. 7, while "In Her Shoes" taking in $3.9 million to place at No. 8. Flight attendants Boycott 'Flightplan'

It then turns out that one of the flight attendants aboard is involved in a terrorist plot hatched by the plane's air marshal.
So? Labor unions, the Association of Professional Flight Attendants, the Association of Flight Attendants and Transport Workers Union, representing most of the nation's 90,000 flight attendants at 23 airlines have urged their members to boycott the new Jodie Foster film, which they think can cause distrust of their members among real airline passengers. Moreover, they also complained that other flight attendants in the film are shown as being "rude, unhelpful and uncaring."
