A Series of Clips From Penelope Cruz's 'Elegy' Arrives
July 29, 2008 11:07:38Samuel Goldwyn Films have given movie lovers a chance to see deeper into the Isabel Coixet-directed drama "Elegy" through five new clips. All of the clips are focused on the main character David Kepesh portrayed by Ben Kingsley and two of them displayed Kepesh's relationship with the student he is obsessed with Penelope Cruz's Consuela Castillo.
Though the length of the videos is varied from fifty seconds to one minute fifty, all of them help to give out more information about what the movie is all about. Sharing more of the drama in the complicated life of Kepesh, the clips also give out a better look into the dynamic between him and other characters played by Dennis Hopper, Peter Sarsgaard and Patricia Clarkson.

June 10, 2008 10:06:28A brand new trailer for "Elegy", a drama movie starring Ben Kingsley and Penelope Cruz, have been released. The video footage compiled of the clips from Samuel Goldwyn Films' tidbit brings viewers closer to the romantic and passionate story between a college professor David Kepesh and a beautiful young woman Consuela Castillo.
The trailer exposes the life of Kepesh before and after he met the woman who will change his life. Opened with compilation of clips showing Kepesh romancing different women, the video footage builds up displaying the attraction between him and Castillo and showing his mixed feeling towards her.

Based on Philip Roth's Pulitzer Prize-winning novella "The Dying Animal", the project sees Kingsley as a cultural critic named David Kepesh who finds his life gets thrown into tragic disarray by her sophisticated student Consuela Castillo, played by Cruz, after they embark on an erotic affair. It is still unclear yet what role the four are set to portray.

March 06, 2007 04:03:46Coming together to share scenes as onscreen lovers, Ben Kingsley and Penelope Cruz have both agreed topline "Elegy", a dramatic feature of Lakeshore Entertainment production, Production Weekly has reported.
An adaptation of Philip Roth's short novel "The Dying Animal", the project will see Kingsley play an eminent TV culture critic and star lecturer at a New York college named David Kepesh who finds his life put into disorder upon meeting Consuela Castillo, set to be played by Cruz, a student in one of his courses. However, as he forms an erotic liaison with her, a maddening sexual possessiveness gradually transports him to the depths of deforming jealousy, threatening him to fall into his own destruction.

Very fine film,sterling performances all round.Soundtrack fits well,Debbie harry looking frumpy but still hottish undeneath.
