Michael Caine on 'Batman 3': No Johnny Depp

Offering words on the matter was "The Dark Knight" actor Michael Caine when MTV caught up with him during 2009 Toronto International Film Festival.
"Johnny Depp is great in anything, but there is no Johnny Depp in this Batman," the Alfred Pennyworth depicter opened up on the chance Depp will be seen in future Batman movie. Although admitting that it could be wrong, the 76-year-old reinforced his statement by saying, "They tell me in no uncertain terms."

Aaron Eckhart Is Open to Return for 'Batman 3'

In an interview with Larry Carroll of MTV, the 41-year-old revealed he is up for another "Batman" movie.
"I've sort of just gone on with my life. I don't have any expectations of being in the next 'Dark Knight,' if there is a 'Dark Knight.' I have no knowledge of one," Eckhart responded to Carroll's question of whether or not he will return. "If Chris called me, I would certainly do it," he stated, before then adding that his character is dead as far as he knows.

During the panel for "The Book of Eli" on Friday, July 24, the actor portraying Commissioner Gordon in both "Batman Begins" and "The Dark Knight" broke the news that the new film is set to start filming in 2010.
Asked about the plans for the third movie in the Christopher Nolan-directed series, the 51-year-old BAFTA recipient gushed as quoted by Reuters, "We start filming the next 'Batman' next year, which means it won't come out for another two years." After uttering the statement, he then quickly added, "But you didn't hear it from me!" No other details for "Batman 3" were shared by Oldman.

Nolan's involvement with this film allegedly pushes back any potential filming for the next Batman film. Pictures' President of Production Jeff Robinov has just made an announcement on Monday, August 1 concerning the project. Titled "The Dark Knight", this second installment of the superhero will still be under the direction of Christopher Nolan with Christian Bale reprising his role as Bruce Wayne/Batman.
Apart from Bale, Heath Ledger has also been confirmed to be in the cast as The Joker. Jonathan Nolan will pen the scripts based on a story by Christopher Nolan and David Goyer while Emma Thomas also Charles Roven seat as the film's producers. Filming production is planned to begin by early 2007 to meet a 2008 release.

Heath Ledger made himself into the dark demented Joker and that is gonna be whaat makes this movie HUGE! with all the advertising thats being done and with it being Heaths last film, I wouldn't doubt this pulls in as much or more than one of the spider-man movies.. This superhero movie will be the best!

Gritty and tough and brilliant and funny and absolutely compelling. Christian Bale has absolutely GOT IT and Heath Ledger played an out of this world Joker. I never thought I'd see the day when I could say that someone could out act Jack Nicholson on any role but Heath Ledger really WAS the Joker. I want to see it again. Like, now. If you haven't seen it or hadn't planned to... Go! Now! It's an amazing movie.

Maybe this is because he died and therefor is raised up to the skies, this is an unfair judgment, and people that do that should be ashamed of themselves. Give Heath Ledger a real judgement, i sure think he would be more happy that way than having a bunch of false statements just because they feel sorry for him because he died. This is a great movie, and I think that Batman Begins is more epical in many senses. But someone who gives a real review does not raise someone to the skies just because he died, because thats obviously whats going on here.
