September 26, 2006 02:09:49Though not as phenomenal as "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest" in drawing big bucks, "The Da Vinci Code" turns out to score a point above the seafaring tale.

It reported that while "Da Vinci" scores nearly $200 million less than "Dead Man's Chest", which has already gained domestic income of more than $410 million, it was made at $75 million lower than the Disney's flick and had a far lower marketing budget.

British Abbey Declined "The Da Vinci Code"
June 01, 2005 09:06:16Producers of "The Da Vinci Code" film and Britain's church officials have both had a very different perspective about Christian belief, and even more about Christian message. The divergent perspective stemmed from the upcoming movie based on the blockbuster novel "The Da Vinci Code" written by U.S. author Dan Brown, which has been condemned by the Vatican and Anglican Church leaders for distorting the Christian message.
What really matter for the church officials is that the novel alleges Jesus married Mary Magdalene and had children, whereas the bible tells all Christians neither Jesus is married nor has he had any children. Based on that evidence, the Westminster Abbey insisted some of the book's details were factually inaccurate. And so, Britain's Westminster Abbey declined "The Da Vinci Code" to be filmed there considering the book as "theologically unsound."
