'Couples Retreat' Dominates North American Box Office
October 12, 2009 09:10:18Off to a strong start following its Friday, October 9 release, Universal Pictures' romantic comedy "Couples Retreat" debuted atop the North American box office. With no other new releases as its competition, the movie that was projected to open in the $20 million range exceeded expectation by pulling in $34.3 million worth of ticket sales.
The solid opening gave this Vince Vaughn's movie the highest-grossing Columbus Day weekend gross on record, besting over "Meet the Parents". And, despite the negative reviews, it also became Universal's first strong domestic opening since "Fast and Furious" in April, and marked Vaughn's best opening since "The Break-Up" in 2006.

L.A. Premiere of 'Couples Retreat' Glimmers With Stars
October 06, 2009 02:10:00Four days before the romantic comedy opens wide in theaters, Universal Pictures has presented the U.S. premiere of "Couples Retreat". On Monday, October 5, the studio rolled down red carpet in front of Mann's Village Theatre in Westwood, Los Angeles to welcome celebrities arriving for the special screening event.
Most of the major cast members, Vince Vaughn, Malin Akerman, Jon Favreau, Jason Bateman, Kristen Bell, Faizon Love and Kali Hawk, made time to attend the premiere. Bateman was accompanied by his wife Amanda Anka, while Vaughn came with his father Vernon Vaughn, who also played a part in the movie.

'Couples Retreat' Shares Two New Clips
September 23, 2009 10:09:26"Couples Retreat" is about two weeks away from its theatrical release in October, and Universal Pictures has brought forth two brand new clips to promote the comedy. Both of the clips highlight on the four couples and the vacation at the tropical-island resort. One of the clips comes out courtesy of MSN, while the other one is put out on Apple.
The MSN clip is titled "Sounds Like Therapy". It features the scene wherein Kristen Bell's Cynthia makes use of PowerPoint to convince her friends on joining her and her partner on the Eden Trip. The Apple snippet, entitled "Yoga", centers the attention on the Yoga session which turns to be one obnoxious experience for the men.

'Couples Retreat' Gets Hilarious Trailer
July 01, 2009 03:07:29Universal Pictures has debuted the first trailer for "Couples Retreat" on Apple. More than two-minute long, the promotional video for the comedy movie introduces the four main couples, Vince Vaughn and Malin Akerman, Faizon Love and Kali Hawk, Jason Bateman and Kristen Bell, as well as Jon Favreau and Kristin Davis.
The trailer helps to explain how things are going between each of the couples before dropping the bomb that one of them is going through a rough patch. In order to work on their problem, the troubled couple chooses to go to a lush tropical getaway and brings along their couples friends to get a special group price. What the others do not know is that their group-rate vacation comes at a price.
