'Confessions of a Shopaholic' Takes Over New York for World Premiere
February 06, 2009 11:02:24The Big Apple has hosted the world premiere of "Confessions of a Shopaholic". On Thursday, February 5, Walt Disney Pictures rolled down red carpet in front of the Ziegfeld Theatre in New York City to welcome stars for the special screening event of their upcoming romantic comedy about a fashionista financial columnist whose shopping addiction has put her in major debts.
Despite the frigid temperatures of the particular night, stars were bracing the cold to join the celebration. Hugh Dancy, Isla Fisher, Joan Cusack, John Goodman, Krysten Ritter, Leslie Bibb, Nick Cornish and Wendie Malick were among the film's cast ensemble seen attending the premiere.

Taking a Glance at the Fashion of 'Confessions of a Shopaholic'
January 29, 2009 09:01:47MTV has got its hands on an exclusive featurette of "Confessions of a Shopaholic" where in cast and crew open up about one important part in the making of the film, the fashion. In the two-minute video footage, those involved in the romantic comedy movie discuss many issues from Rebecca Bloomwood's original style to the stores that become the shooting locations.
Opening the featurette, the film's star Isla Fisher gushes, "New York is literally the fashion capital of the world and there are so many brilliant stores." Later, she reveals her vision for her character, Rebecca Bloomwood, saying "I wanted Becky to be adventurous and bright and colorful but at the same time high fashion."

When her addiction puts her into major debts, she is determined to change her life around and lands a job as an advice columnist for a new financial magazine published by the top fashion magazine she's dreaming of working with. But, changing her lifestyle is not as easy as she thinks it will be.
In the second trailer of "Confessions of a Shopaholic", several never-before-seen footage of Bloomwood's effort to get out of her financial problems can be seen. Courtesy of Yahoo!, the new trailer runs about two and a half minutes long. While most of the scenes previewed are similar to the ones before, several freshly-outed footage, including Bloomwood's job interview are available starting from the 1:00 mark.

Hugh Dancy Sets to Star in 'Confessions of a Shopaholic'
January 14, 2008 03:01:55Hugh Dancy is set to play in Jerry Bruckheimer Films' upcoming romantic comedy film. According to Hollywood Reporter, the actor who portrays Galahad in "King Arthur" will be joining Isla Fisher and Krysten Ritter in P.J. Hogan's "Confessions of a Shopaholic".
In the adaptation movie, the 32-year-old British actor will play the editor of the financial magazine where Fisher works. Meanwhile, the film that is based on Sophie Kinsella's best selling novels with the same title tells a story about Rebecca Bloomwood, a compulsive shopper turned financial adviser after finding herself to be in major debt. It is expected to start filming next month in New York and Connecticut.

For the project, Fisher reportedly is set to portray Rebecca Bloomwood, a recent college graduate working as a financial journalist in New York City. All goes well in her life except for one thing: she is a shopaholic. As the bills are piling up fast, she must creatively find solutions to her mounting debt while on the same time being faced with a fact that she falls in love with a highly successful entrepreneur she is highlighting for the magazine.
